In 1999. I was 6 years old and that was the first finals I had ever watched. Basically some of the first basketball I really remember even seeing on TV. Spurs won the championship and I just stuck with them ever since. I really enjoyed watching them win and celebrate in that series. That's when I really got into basketball and started playing in youth leagues myself.

My dad is a huge celtics fan. Probably why i was watching boston that day.
I get it. My grandfather is a Red Sox fan, and somewhere in my adolescence I started following them.

There are are home videos of me as a baby crawling into my mother's lap during a Spurs game, where she picks me up - her newborn - and moves me aside without taking her eyes off the TV.

Game 3 vs Nuggets in 2005 Playoffs. Ran into the game accidentally while channel surfing, had never seen a game before that and I literally knew nothing about the league. Decided to stick with it cuz there was nothing else on. Ended up being completely mesmerized by everything Manu did on the court, been a Spurs fan since that day.

followed Nique Wilkins to the Spurs and stayed there because a rookie wearing the same #21 just blew everthing away with his no-nonsense style of fundamental basketball ... and I like black ...

I would say 1995. After Dad killer fake retired I didn't watch a game in 94. Jordan was the reason I started watching basketball. 95 season rolled around and my mom got tickets to the Spurs @ Suns. After that game I became a Spurs fan for life.

Mid 90's tbh... could not watch much but I was playing BB and NBA started to be hyped in France with Canal + and some magazines. I read an article in French about this dude "The Admiral" with his navy story, I started to look for stuff about him and this franchise from Texas with a cool name... The Spurs. I was hooked totally from the beginning of the twin towers... followed and root for them since tbh...

2005 is the first year I started watching the Spurs. Always admired Tim Duncan and quickly became a fan of Manu Ginobili. Been enjoying the ride even with all the heartbreaking exits and disappointing ends to certain seasons.

I can't pinpoint it because I was about 6-7 years old. It was around 1991-92 and I remember some of the Spurs players visiting my elementary school. I remember seeing how tall they were and cool they looked.

I then began watching them on tv, but I remember being an MJ fan as well. But little by little, my devotion was only to the Spurs.

I remember the first real heartbreak i felt was when they lost to the Rockets in 1995. I couldn't believe the Spurs had lost 2 games at home.

i wanna say it was 91 when i became a fan. i must have been 14 or 15 at the time. i have no idea how i became a fan though. when i was little, i remember my uncles having iceman posters. but that was the only influence i can remember. i think i was just channel surfing one night, settled in on a spurs game, and just really enjoyed it. i had never been into pro sports at all at that point, and then kind of overnight i was a huge spurs and cowboys fan.

1980 or 1981. When my father was assigned here. (Military)

I've been through the George Gervin, Johnny Moore, Mike Mitc , Artis Gilmore and Gene Banks days. It was a tough 18 years until Tim showed up. He changed everything. Top 6 Spurs of all time for me:

    1. Tim Duncan
    2. David Robinson
    3. Manu Ginobili
    4. Kawhi Leonard
    5. George Gervin
    6. Alvin Robertson

ElNono: "When did Manu get drafted?"
Tbh almost every Argentine Spurs fan started to follow the team when Manu came to the league in 2002.

I only casually watched basketball until 89-90 when the Magic came into the league as I lived in Orlando. Started watching it a lot more and David Robinson in his rookie year became one of my favorite players. Over the next few years I became a fan of the Spurs and not just DRob. My sister moved to Austin in the early 90s and I went to a game at Hemisfair in 1993. I moved to Austin in 1998 and been following fanatically since then.

early 90s. My pops was from SA and a big Spurs fan. I vividly remember going to a school book fair and buying a Spurs poster that had Drob, Sean ******, Willie Anderson and Terry mings on it. I believe that was in 91. Bought it and it hung in my bedroom until I went to college.
