I can't say its the greatest show ever because it's the only TV show I have ever watched. I'm sure Ive sat down on a few episodes of friends or seinfled before but never really took the show seriously.

I was contemplating cancelling my Netflix subscription a month ago but before doing so, I watched three epusodes of BB and decided not to...

I enjoyed it a lot. I felt that pacing was great. I swear there was a thread of that show here a year ago but my search only leads to a soprans, wire, thread.

Anything you guys can recommend? Shows of aimilar quality.

the sopranos is too slow. BB takes the cake, you've been spoiled more than you realize, so you'll have to give other shows time. Ironically, BB was the first show I actually ever dedicated time to watching also, since then I've binged most of the ones on.

    Watch some good HBO shows:

Game of Thrones (1st season very slow)
    House Of Cards
THe walking dead (don't watch it---only reason I listed it)
    sparticus (gore/pornish ----fun and entertaining)
    Banshee
    Silicon Valley

I recently finished a 2nd viewing. Worth it, although the Mom, Kid & Sister-in-law characters are fast-forward worthy.

Deadwood is hands-down my favorite of the new-golden-age-of-TV series. Followed closely by Mad Men.

Bloodlines on netFlix is pretty good

If you liked Breaking Bad, give Better Call Saul a try. Aside from Game of Thrones, it's my favorite show currently running.

    Ray Donovan is solid.

Fargo is probably the best show that is still on season 1 was great season 2 was incredible.

The Shield might be the best show I have ever watched. probably have it ahead of the Wire and Breaking Bad, 7 seasons 89 episodes about 45 minutes a pop. Once you get going you may watch four or five in a night, that addicting.

Justified is also a great watch. Boyd Crowder maybe one of the best TV characters in the history of TV.

The first season of True Detective. It just doesn't get much better than that. And avoid season 2 at all costs. The seasons aren't related.

I've been rewatching the first season this week. Just amazing from start to finish. Best opening credits scene, ever.

Love The Shield but I still can't watch that finale again. They completely set and destroyed the bar for finales as far as emotional impact is concerned. When they dragged Ronnie off,

At the end of the final episode, when they a picture of Lem in his last scene that got to me. Perfect ending in my book, not what everyone expected but the ending that was derseved. Vic showed his true colors, turning on his boy in some false sense of honor.

I am rewatching it for the third time, and I still think the Mexican Terminators never quite jelled with the rest of the series. But One Minute made their entire storyline worth it.

Also season 1 of Fargo was amazing too. Watched a few eps of season 2 but just couldn't be bothered finishing it for some reason, even though it has gotten mostly positive reviews. Might have to give it another try.

If they didn't force the boring newspaper storyline it would have been great. Also, Marlo was never anywhere close to as interesting a character as Avon or Stringer. If it wasn't for Snoop, then Marlo's whole crew would have been boring as .

Season 2 ended up way better than Season 1 imo. Billy Bob was great, but he felt a little caricatured at times. I found the Indian in Season 2 to be a more terrifying "villain". But in Season 1, Molly is a more interesting "hero" than her father is in Season 2. Ted Danson and Lou's wife are terrific tho.

You can argue BB is the only series that never had a letdown season of most recent series.

Justified was great, but season 5 was not very good, and even seasons 3 and 6 had some very low valleys.

Sons of Anarchy was straight after season 3.

Shield was a caricature by season 5.

Walking Dead hasn't been nearly as gripping as ratings suggest.

    Then even premium shows...

Game of Thrones season 4 and 5 had some very trite plots that carried on and on forever.

Homeland was pretty horrible after season 2.

Boardwalk Empire had issues throughout that were magnified by the end.

Penny Dreadful is still a better cast and idea than product.

True Detective had a lull in season 1's last few episodes that carried into season 2 new cast and plot line.

But BB only got better. Only got darker. Only got stronger. Characters never felt trite. Plots never carried on too long. You went from hating to loving to hating characters because that was the intention, not because they wasted a characters potential for so long.

Better Call Saul is off to a great start, but they actually started in quality similar to season 3 of BB so it will be tough to never have a letdown season.

Banshee might be the only other show of 3+ seasons to not have a letdown, and it won't because it ends this year.

But that's a different sort of show. BB superior to it in every way.

I actually just started rewatching it for a second time too. On Season 3 right now. If you want to stay in the Breaking Bad universe you should check out Better Call Saul.

Aside from all the shows that have already been recommended I would also recommend Mr. Robot and Deadwood.

Deadwood is hard to recommend because it's so damn unfulfilling.

    Still a great show.

If you have Amazon Prime, you get access to these older HBO shows included. Been great rewatching The Wire. I owned Deadwood already, but you can access it there.

Humans on AMC was a pretty good remake of Real Humans. Luther is also a pretty solid show.

Agreed that the newspaper story line was forced but for me the thing that made season 5 ty was the fake serial killer part. It was the type unrealistic/sensationalized bull I'd expect from a crime TV show that's aired on TNT/FX/USA.

And also, the bolded part is why I never understood the general consensus that season 4 was the best. The public school plot line was good but there was nothing appealing or likable about Marlo, he was just a ruthless asshole who killed people to maintain his power.
