Kind of sad when the rookie you drafted is probably going to be the biggest name your team added in the offseason but it's how things are looking right now.
Free agency hasn't even been open for 24 hours.

At least the Spurs haven't been one of those teams throwing outrageous money at second and third tier players.

Cheers! Thanks. With those parameters, what would you consider a reasonable offer for Boban?
Really depends on the market. With the way centers have been going, I'd try to S&T Boban if Bourousis can be had for less than the MLE. The Spurs actually have leverage, since matching a deal for Boban still gives a cheaper APY than any other contract I've seen a center sign so far. But if they can't get a legit replacement and don't find a starter for their cap space, I'd go under the cap and give him anything under $30M/4.

If Simmons and Ayres had a baby, maybe. No more 26-year-old prospects. If you want vets, get vets. If you want young guys, get young guys. Don't try to do both in the same player.
    Agreed!

I'll be just as disappointed if this guy gets more than $2 Million. Looks like a scrub, and there are better bigs in Europe who want to come over.

If they need to get rid of Leonard and Harkless we should jump in and offer some of our draft stash trash like Hanga.
I am all over that! I loved Leonard before his injury. I wanted us to make a run for him this off-season even if he was a RFA. Harmless would be gravy. I would love to facilitate Pau's going to Portland by taking two good, young prospects off their hands.

Well seeing as how much cap space the Spurs have and the amount of some of these contracts being handed out to a player like Solomon Hill, it's not looking at that great unless players like Bobo and Mills are traded. But that's besides the point, this free agent group is horrible. Next year seems better.

    ???????

I'm talking about big names here, in comparison to big nba names that are already established. I never said drafting him was sad....

    ???????????
I know what you are saying. And I stand by what I said. There is nothing wrong with Murray being the big get. Did the big get of LMA win us a championship last year? Did it even get us to the conference final?

How about the big name West?

Probably as done as any deal. Nothing can be signed until after the moratorium is over.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Evan Turner deal. He wasn't even unarguably better than Allen Crabbe last year.

The bigger q is not whether he gets a contract, but whether it's honoured past training camp. o austin Toro spurs

Thanks. As you mentioned in the other thread, I'd be really worried about Dallas driving up the price or poaching him outright. How serious are the rumors about Bourousis or even Lorbek? Or bringing Milutinov over? Lorbek at least will get a workout, I think.

If SA can get a guard in a S&T for Boban, that would rule.

Doesn't Phoenix have an excess of guards? Do they need a big?

The Spurs are lifting up the barrel and scrapping down several inches into the ground with that one.
    Willie Reed and Humphries....
    Saves us Milutinov, save us!

Considering that I've been wanting more talent and depth surrounding Kawhi and LMA instead of a player like Durant, what's your point?

And when I threw the phrase "big name", I was talking about players more established than a rookie. Since you're throwing examples around, how many 19 year old rookies have helped Spurs win a championship in their first year?

    Been wondering about that myself.

Maybe Green kicked Durant in the groin....
