The move is a place holder for next summer, Pau is just here to give the team a fighting chance ala the 2011 Mavs.
Agreed and well said. Au Revoir!

International man of the year. Interesting dude but coasted all season long.
When has Wade not threatened to leave when he has been a FA?![]()
Who knows. I was holding out hope that Flash might have found his way to San Antonio to help us beat the GSW Super Team. Hopefully they can work some magic and get him to join the good guys. He'd be a kickass fit at PG with Gasol. Aldridge, Leonard and Green around him.
I love it, I don't care if it's two years too late, I always liked MVPau.
Not "au revoir" but "adieu and good riddance."
Make no sense to dump Diaw for Boban when Pau is on the roster & the team has no mobile PF.![]()
If Timmy aint here there is no point keeping Parker. The big 3 is history. He is now a mediocre PG and doesn't have the 'big 3' tag on him anymore making him seem better than he is.
Aldridge had the most efficient season of his career in San Antonio last year and was a monster in the 2nd half once he got comfortable. I'm sure Pop can get a lot out of the a player with Gasol's offensive talents
Well there's always the Jones Fracture, maybe there can be a silver lining to that signing.![]()
An engaged Boris will be difficult to replace mainly due to his playmaking skills. However Gasol is a pretty good playmaker.
Any way the Spurs could lure him away from that? Basically, could we afford Wade too, and make a Super Team of our own?
I dont want Wade
Have you even watched Gasol play last year? If all you did was glance his box score, then you don't know how much of a liability he is on defense. He was completely miserable last year. He's slightly faster than Duncan but he's just another hole on defense against the Warriors. Spurs are already 2nd best in the West now and should be making moves to counter the Warriors. Getting a slow big who is borderline unplayable against them is not the answer.
Dont like that POS, tosb has no business in SA.
I knew it months ago and the final bit of evidence was him not jumping at supposedly 2/$40M from the Trail Blazers and close from the Timberwolves. Unlike in '14, it all added up, for all the reasons I've discussed ad nauseam.
He's a good fit in some ways, a poor one in others, but in totality, he's the closest thing to a Duncan archetype and the best overall player they could have gotten.
Players are notoriously different in our system. Why dont you wait and see what happens... Not a bad replacement for a Top 5 all time player
Spurs would need ~ $16M more in cap space. Enough with old s.
If Gasol would've came 2 years ago, there's no Aldridge. Blessing in disguise.
MVPau sacrificed money to be a Spur, now let's on them Bay Area lesbians
Not happy TBH. Ring me when there's an anti Gasol krew assembling...
