Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't. People on here mad about the Pau signing would've been pissed if we hadn't signed anyone either. He's by far the best player available to us at a position of need, and we got him on a friendly contract. No room to complain tbh.

Spurs have a legit shot at winning it all next season with this signing, great addition. To compete with the Warriors I think they need to make a few more moves, but the Warriors just like the Spurs will have to play with 1 ball. The team always wins!

Biggest negative here is that we're going to have to listen to him scream like he just got shot every time he takes some contact for an entire season tbh

I'm very worried about the drop in defense.

Perimiter D will have to be even stronger and hopefully smart system and gameplan will also compensate for some of the drop.

Gasol was very bad defensively on the Bulls.
Now spurs can find out how much of the perimeter defense can be attributed to the perimeter players.

Pau probably wants to win and he realized he could go for more money but theres barely any teams in the league of the warriors now. The Spurs while probably won't have a good shot at the warriors are at least top 3 in the west. Blazers would have much less of a shot against the dubs.

I'm not that sold on Gasol at this point (defensively) but it's clearly the best move possible.

On the bright side, the KD move puts the Spurs firmly back in the big three of the NBA. (Lately, commentators have been leaving them off that list).

You sure Gasol puts the Spurs ahead of the Clippers? I'm definitely not.

You mean the team that just paid Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers both 8 figures?

They're more likely to be in a tailspin with CP/Blake both FAs to be than a 65ish win team next year.

The Clippers are a fading mess. All hands will be deserting the ship (like OKC) soon.

Paul wants out. The team wants Griffin out. DeAndre is a lost soul.

Austin Rivers shat on both of our pgs in the playoffs.

That's what the Lakers were supposed to be in 2007-08. If they start winning games again all that gets swept back under the rug. I think it's way too early to write their epitaph. And the Spurs are losing their soul with Tim's retirement. I'm not a Gasol fan, he has seemed like he was putting up empty numbers the last two years in Chicago. He's definitely the best option available, but I'm not expecting another 60+ win team this year.

With how top heavy the conferences are and how terrible the rest of the league is, it would take a significant injury or two to fall short of 60.

OKC without Durant isn't going to beat the Spurs.

Can the Spurs with Gasol have any chance against the Warriors with Durant? I doubt it, but at least they would play for the WCF.
