Terrible throw by Anderson, terrific athleticism by Simmons and even better finish
That's where he could get him the ball.

This might be the worst I've ever seen Simmons look.
I don't know if it was on purpose (not Simmons looking good but half court sets).. bc you know coaches test different things we don't know of.. but if you noticed this was a half court game. Very rarely someone pushed the tempo.. It seemed deliberate that they wanted to practice half court offense. It wasn't pretty. TO by everyone. Lack of off the ball movement, lack of cutting, just ugly.

I consider it practice. A lot of heroballing by most everyone in a half court set.. I hope next time they are better.

I love Becky though. She played everybody I think.

I wonder, she should be getting offers at least for head assistant spots or something. She's way too talented.

It was indeed a throw in between 2 defenders. Great pass.

these players have not even been together a week
all want to make the team so some hero ball is not unnormal
turnovers are going to be a problem because people have not played together
anderson and simons have played together and also know the system

What, you think all those rebounds are available only to him? What a dumb thing to say.

I'm saying that when the other team misses 60 shots, it's possible to just fall into a few. And I'm saying that I wouldn't judge by one game, when the other team misses 60 shots.

Oh, yeah, and I'm saying " yo' dumb thing to say". Jackass.

    Some Random thoughts

    - Anderson's shot looks better but he struggled against D-league level players operating in the high post from a horns set. That's concerning if they plan to play him more at the 4.

    - Murray has good hands. With Effort he can disrupt ball handlers but his effort is so up and down. He got beat repeadly on the dribble by sykes. His offball defense effort is questionable. His Vision is subpar or he's a chucker.. There's potential there though but his lack of shooting is going to be a major problem in his career..Good effort on the boards but thats largely due to his desire to want to chuck and drive to the basket soon as he grabs the board.

    - Simmons can't play with ball dominant players. That's concerning since he is already 26 years old. Not to mention his talent level would require him to play against better players who require the ball. He's as good as gone after next year.

    - Ndoye and Lalane are decent rim protect guys but I havent seen anything from them that se havent seen last year.

-Arciwhiteguy has impressive defensive work ethic. His release is ok but he most likely wont make the nba due to his size and speed..Still a better shot at the NBA as rotation player than Jimmer though since he does put in the effort without the ball.

    - Forbes has a good release but his offball movement for an offball little guy is poor.. hes not going to make it.

    - Stokes is 6'4

Spurs draw first blood against GSW in 2016-17!
    This is the spirit.
Enough with criticizing our players. Those GSW looked like to me. Its war!

Probably the most amazing defensive line I've never seen for someone who didn't play good defense.

Yeah, I told you guys Stokes was short. I think he's probably 6'6", but he's not one of those guys with a short neck and long arms, whose body is really taller than the tape measure shows. It's a shame, because he seems like a good kid who works hard. But I don't know how you can go up against NBA bigs, at that height.

Thanks for sharing I like to read others impressions and I am too lazy to initiate them myself.
I think it is a bit concerning you ar right that JSimms has been completely off since Murray joined the team.
Its not a coincidence. Like at all. And Murray tried to pass twice to him on fastbrakes, he tried to share. I'd say its obvious they have no chemistry whatsoever, and instead of throwing lobs Murray tried to get cute. Can't blame it on all J.Simms, but they don't jive. I am not sure is J.Simms but could be the Murray effect... I don't know what to tell you about it... (like the Parker effect?) I have to watch them both more.

I liked Ndoye defensively but offensively bad, Murray involved him on a PnR and he didn't catch a ball that was a good enough lob, not a perfect pass, but not so off base. I don't know if that is on Murray (bad passing) or Ndoye (or lack of chemistry between the two -- a very likely possibility when judging passing TBH).

Cady was the best he's been in any game. He was less of a foul machine either than he was last SL for example. Still he got nice jumpers and just missed them. He was better on defense than the past few games too, but nothing special. Ndoye had a bit of butter fingers rebounding I thought.

Stokes is skilled, he does all the little things, very active defensively, but you are right. I don't know if he's 6'4" with no shoes or what, but he definitely looks very undersized. I am still on the fence about him. If he was Cady's size for example, it would be a whole different story.

Not a good game from Kyle, so I'll shut my yap about him offensively. He did have some nice sequences in transition defense and some deflections and blocks. Even on a bad shooting night, he manages to help the team.

So is Becky the heir apparent to Pop?

She's not that good. She didn't even play Gromovs. How can she be a good summer league coach, and not even play Gromovs?
