With Manu on the team, the Spurs probably don't sign Derek Anderson.
Yeah, I always felt we wasted 2-3 years of Manu's athletic prime letting him play out his European contracts... Manu's basketball IQ has always been high enough to impact games. I'm sure he would have made a difference the year Derek Anderson was injured - and led to a more compe ive showing against the Lakers that post-season. Instead the Spurs were humiliated without a dependable perimeter slasher/creator - and Kobe took a free ride on the defensive end which wouldn't have been the case if he was forced to defend Manu.
With Manu on the team, the Spurs probably don't sign Derek Anderson.
Kidd: "I still have nightmares about that."
I always suspected this-- glad to see Kidd realizes his mistake.
Pop said at the time the Spurs would not have gotten rid of Parker, that Parker & Kidd could play together because Kidd could guard SGs. That would've been an incredibly flexible backcourt, where any combination of Kidd, Parker, Manu would've been deadly. One of the reasons I have no problem with Durant choosing the Warriors is because I rooted hard for Kidd to join the Spurs the year after they beat his Nets in the finals-- same situation. And Kidd lived to regret it, knowing it was the best basketball decision he could've made.
You mean packing the press conference with bull pissing and moaning about officiating till Tony counldn't get a call even with blood.
I'm with ducks here. It was a blessing in disguise for us that Kidd stayed in NJ.
Unless he dumped Jemima before joining the Spurs.
Kidd's shot was even worse than Parker's at the time. He couldn't hit a three until he got to Dallas.
Tony's shot was too, tbh, so no difference there. The difference was he wasn't unidimensional. He was an excellent defender then (also great rebounder for a perimter guy), and could find the open guy like the best of them.
Not saying Hedo wouldn't have choked all the same, but we wouldn't have wasted possessions getting blocked by Shaq and Malone over and over again.
Spurs won 2 in the following 4 years. Kidd was sliding by 2007. Signing would not really have mattered.
Ah what could've been. Instead we were stuck with that fat, teammate backstabbing, cap eating, sorry excuse for a PG. You know that guy that unless he was facing some scrub who goes by Boobie needed his back-ups to bail him out time after time.
He beat her for making him choose the Nets.
Messing around with a teammate's wife is Spurs material?
Kidd didn't have a jumpshot until the end of his career. He would have been a liability on the offensive end for the Spurs because of his inability to hit open shots.
Thanks
Oh yeah bc fat ass Enrique has obviously been a sharpshooter during his overrated career, am I right?
and Kidd had great penetrating abilities to get to the hoop like Tony could?
And on top of that 3 more rings to boot..... They made out okay.
what about cheating on wife with your teammate's wife?
On reddit they still say sexting with his teammate's wife.
Like both parties divorced over text messages.![]()
do people act like parker has always been in 2013-present form?
Thank God for Amy (keeping Tim here) and for Joumana (keeping Kidd away and keeping TP here).
Two divorcees who both did the Spurs a great service!!!!

i definitely remember being excited in '03 about Kidd coming here. favorite PG (at the time) joining my favorite team. for some reason I already hated Parker back then. pretty sure Duncan-Manu-Kidd would've rang at least twice, probably repeated. oh well, it worked out for everyone.
