On second though might be worth it, a Parker/Rubio backcourt could give the Warriors problems.

I like the idea but don't want to give up anything more than Mills for him which I don't think will work money wise...

Green would have to go to get him, Spurs won't trade Parker for him. I don't know who comes up with these rumors, but losing Green would hurt. Still Parker/Rubio backcourt can give the Warriors problems so they may have to do it.

This is strange. I thought the stats showed that Rubio is actually a pretty good defender but hurts his own team's offense because he's such a bad shooter.

His shooting isn't a problem when he hogs the ball. It would be an issue on the Spurs, though, with so much post play.

Rubio wouldnt be a bad 7th man. But that's not the role hw wants. Hed be a real weapon against Curry though...

Perfect player to use in a really slow game.

Spurs would have cap issues trying to get Rubio, the people saying Green would involved are probably right. I wanted the Diaw dump to be the play for Rubio. I'd take Diaw, Anderson, and a 1st for Rubio in a heartbeat.

Parker isn't getting any younger, if the Wolves will trade Rubio for Green, etc it might be worth it if they can get him to extend.

I'd be so down. I know his offensive limitations, but he's definitely a net plus and would make a killer defensive lineup alongside Kawhi and Green.
I'm not some player fan, it's just the facts are Parker has lost many steps and while never having been a great defender or anything, now he's just a gaping wound. We can't face this league of point guards with a defensive sieve.
Plus think of the passes! Think of the passes!

Although I guess we'd have to give up Green for sure so whatever nevermind. I mean, I'd say Ricky Rubio has more basketball skills than Danny Green but at least Danny Green was/is a shooter.

Wolves are in position that they don't have to make a move, but it would Be better for the youth development to do. If they could get Rubio for Parker, I definitely take that. Rubio would fit in great as a pass first guard, something this team needs. His defense would be welcomed in the western conference as well. I don't give up Danny. He fits well with Kawhi and lma. Needs to stay.

Spurs FO will not trade Tony, he has helped this team win championships they will be loyal. So if the Spurs were to acquire Rubio, Green would be involved for sure. Only way Parker is gone is if it's Rubio, Wiggins for Parker, etc, etc. Spurs FO would not say no to that no matter how loyal and Wolves wouldn't trade Wiggins for pieces.

So if the Spurs acquire Rubio, Green is gone.

Pop would start Rubio, bring Tony off the bench to keep him fresh for playoffs.

Not outright. The Spurs would have to add more to it considering that Rubio is making more than an average of $14M/per over the next three years and Patty is in the final year of his contract making around $3M.

This forum is littered with "but he can pass" comments about little white point guards who can't play. Just look at all the times some little white PG came along and "but look at that pass" comments were posted when it became apparent they couldn't play NBA level ball. Pretty sure someone said the same about fat head (he's not white but the concept is the same).

If the guy can't shoot he's useless. Great passing is fine if you're a threat to score, because that's when you draw the defense in that allows your great pass to matter. If you're a non issue where scoring is concerned, your great passes are to people who are well covered or they get picked off and become dumb passes.
