Rick Scott has done a very good job with education (which is the single most important thing to pull people out of poverty) but that is something that takes a long time to reap the benefits of. He cannot undo the rules/regulations of eg. Obamacare that Obama has weighed businesses down with - nor failure of local governments to follow through with their promises e.g. Miami-Dade's 1/2 cent tax for mass transit.

Yes, the whole Republican establishment HATES him - while the Democrat nominee is the epitome of the corrupt, status quo, gravy train that both sides have going on in Washington DC. So if you want the donors and top 1% (who are funding Hillary at the tune of what? $2 billion while hardly anyone will fund Trump) to continue with the same old, same old that benefits only them, give your vote to Hillary. Just who do you think (actually it's a full penny extra - 1/2 for mass transit, 1/2 cent for Jackson Memorial Hospital) an extra penny tax hurts the MOST - that's right - the poorest people. Maybe you don't have homeless/poor people where you are but there are lots here.

In and of themselves sure but they don't exist in a vacuum but instead as the only viable choices available and in opposition. If you want to talk about changing our political system then great I'll be with you 100% but you still have to live in the reality as it exists. Refusing to participate doesn't make things better.

Standing up to the Soviets is what he's known for and he did help to bring the Cold War to an end by making the Soviets go bankrupt spending on military and foreign wars. Reagan's first term was really good, but he didn't have the same advisors/cabinet in his 2nd term and that hurt him when it came to the Iran Contra, lack of spending on AIDS research, and letting crony capitalism get out of control. But his approach to the Soviets was Kennedy like and ultimately helped bring the Cold War to an end. Plus he always had a positive message which appealed to everyone.
