France is pretty much the only team with the talent to pose a challenge to the US team.

Will probably still be a blowout tbh.

    Spain
And maybe Lithuania and Serbia, but they only have a chance (a small one to be honest) if they play the perfect game

Spain is going to miss Marc. Pau is a formidable challenge, but US has too much perimeter talent for him to really contend with alone.

If you look at the names they're probably the most talented non-USA tram in the compe ion
The problem is that they play like as a team...just like football (well, soccer for you) really

France would have a hard Time in group B.
I think the team that can challenge USA the most is Australia.
They have some size, speed and a serviceable backcourt.

I don't think Bogut can stay with Cousins.

Batum has been really, really bad for France lately... he's dropped off a cliff since a couple years ago.

De Colo has been carrying them for a while now. Gobert is good, but defensively, Noah was better for them.

Problem with Nic is that with TP/Heurtel, Nando and Boris on the court his role is basically that of a 3&D guy, and that's not who he is

There isn't a team that can challenge team USA, they will cruise to a metal. The number two seed is up in the air. It's weird to see teams like Spain, Argentina, France are filled with players past their primes. You would think that the new generation of stars is taking over, Pau, Manu, and Tony are playing with their national teams since early 2000s!

Those teams all have had a pretty good generation of players that have won (except for France, the other two have beat Team USA once or more in their heyday), but they all also have some youngsters they're transitioning to. Don't forget FIBA basketball is also a 10 min/quarter game, and this whole compe ion is probably 10 games max if you go all the way. So in a way it favors vet talent somewhat. You don't really have to sustain high intensity for long.

Reuters reported that scientists had found drug-resistant “super-bacteria” in Lagoa, as well as off Copacabana beach, where Olympic marathon and triathlon swimmers will compete. The super-bacteria could cause “urinary, gastrointestinal, pulmonary and bloodstream infections, along with meningitis,” Reuters wrote, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it contributes to death for up to half of all patients infected.
