What are you guys talking about? I don't recall him saying anything about this being his last year. He said he'll see how he feels at the end the next season before deciding.
This is the true. We might assume right that he is on his last year, he just retired from NT, because is logical, the next international tournament is 3 years ahead, so he is saying "i am not going to play 3 more years". But he has not retired from the Spurs yet.

"He has offered so much, not only to the NBA but to the global game," the 24-year said. "I just appreciate his talent. Just him being a championship winner and a lot of kids want to envy that. Not just in Argentina but worldwide. Watching his game, watching him for years even before I got to the NBA, it's just a lot of respect and a lot of love for what he's given to the game of basketball. "
    Just.

We should try and make the Aussie Spurs the way those guys are playing

    Bogut
    Aldridge
    Leonard
    Delly
    Mills

    Gasol
    Baynes
    Anderson (David not kyle)
    Manu
    Parker

    5 Aussies, 2 Americans, 1 Frenchie, 1 Argentinian, 1 Spaniard

It's so great to watch Serbia and Croatia. It's probably the closest Spurs "thing" we can watch in the Olympic Games when it comes to fundamental basketball. Teodosic plays effortless, it's great to watch.

Apparently, Gasol is having some trouble with his injured calf.

That would be pretty darn awesome. He's left-handed, so he's right-brained, which is probably why he's so outside the box, but has been under one of the greatest semi-orthodox coaches in history for almost a decade and a half...
Sounds like a great combination for either a tremendous, legendary coach, or a flameout of sizeable proportions.
As always with coaches, it will depend on his talent at hand.

I would love to see him go for it.

I read somewhere that the exceptional talents are not necessarily good coaches, bc they have to be able to deal with guys and coach guys from the basics up, who have much less talent than they had as a player and that is not an easy transition... or something of that nature. I bet he'd want to check himself in the game to fix things up.
