I love it here. This is the only board out there where we get to see how people really are. I like that. Nobody has to be nice and polite and fake it here, so we get to see how most people really are and they are jerks. The racists are them ones that believe blacks are incapable of competing with, so they must impose race based quota systems. I understand the purpose but disagree with the method. Like it or not we are not all born with equal opportunity. We cannot afford to case study every individual, however if a black person thinks they have a better chance at going to college, they might chose that over the alternatives. It's not an elegant solution, it's like shoving a wad of towels into a leaking dam instead of repairing the leak.

The goal is wrong. Like WH said, it's about class. Poor people cannot afford college and often don't raise their kids with college as a goal. The feds like that though, because it helps back fill the military to fight and for rich white man's land. Many of these placebos like affirmative action are designed to keep the black person guessing about their futures. It's not a real action, all it does it chose this person over this person to attend school. It doesn't do anything to get either person through high school. If you can graduate HS with decent grades, you've cleared 90% of the hurdles already.
