    No, they're not
West is the worst its been in decades. If they win 40 games I can see them making it.

It really must have been the knee (I was worried he was going to have a Tim situation with that knee affecting his offensive performance, jumpshots etc.) but he's come back playing well. I think Pop is going to have to manage his minutes carefully (Manu too. I know Pop didn't want to play him more than 20 minutes on a B2B.)
With the Spurs bench being so young and rooks (I mean Laprovittola, Murray?) I don't know how Pop will manage it, but he's going to have to keep them both rested and healthy through the season.
IMHO, at a minimum Pop simply must find a taker for Kyle before the trade deadline who can send us a 2nd PG. I love Patty, but he is capable of serving as a backup PG only against the league's bottom-dwellers. Barring a miracle, neither Dijon nor Lapro is capable of making any contribution this season.

As frustrating it can be watching this team, one cannot deny how much we need Dedmon.

With him, we'd have won by at least 15 with the Lakers scoring under 100.

Would Bud do us a favor and take Slomo off our hands?
Splutter was an actual NBA player though.

I would not mind the trade... contrary to most I believe Kyle to be an NBA player and in a lesser team he'd get playing time and eventually find his niche. The team already has a lot of guards though so he's unlikely to be the trade chip IMO... Trading him for a guard depletes the Spurs forwards even more... but whatever.

If trading him would mean we're "depleted" at the SF position, the team could always call up Garino or maybe take a flyer on a FA that isn't scared to shoot the corner three.

    Kyle is expendable.

They were missing their best player so it wasn't exactly solid. I still believe Dedmon is a big difference maker for us, though.

Jordan Clarkson always kills us worse than D-Snitch, tbh.

He's still an important part of their team. That they kept it a game late should embarrass a team with Championship aspirations but these things happen.

Lakers are definitely a playoff team in the West this year. Still, the fact this was such a struggle despite huge runs is an embarrassment for the Spurs. There should not be this many open threes given up, especially with Kawhi and LDN on the perimeter. Team needs to work on its focus.
Not Danny's best defensive performance of his career which was why he kept getting benched.

Russell hasn't been their best player this season. I think this was a good win but far from the best.

Now you're in denial. Who on that team is better than him? And I don't only say that because he's their leading scorer. He's clearly their best player, IMO.

Shame too since his shot is really starting to round into form.

I still say Clarkson has been better. We just don't agree there. Either way a win against the Lakers shouldn't mean too much. Spurs have to compete with Cle/LAC/Dubs so those are the games that should have more meaning.

Yeah, and the Dubs game was clearly fool's gold though we match up well against them. I think we match up well with the Cavs too. The Clips on the other hand...all three of them are scary. I'm not sure we scare any of them, though, especially sans TD.

Spurs have a lot of guards, but no good option beyond Tony as a PG - especially if the team makes it to the playoffs. Might have to move Kyle AND another piece to get a serviceable wing, too. Still holding my breath on Simmons.

Loving Pau Gasol right now, a perfect addition to the team... Over the last 5 games he's been exactly what we need, good to see the Spurs spreading the wealth right now, before yesterday a season high 29 assists and today again a new season high with 30 assists
