lol Incredible defense? He got torched in those six minutes several times last night.
Uh no he didn't. No need to make things up.

He was +3 with two rebounds. And I actually watched the game, so uh, no, he didn't get torched.

He got burnt on one drive and lost his assignments on one and actually blocked someone and had the rebound but was just too weak and got it wrestled away. That was just 1 minute I watched of him.

Lies! ! ! Your attention span maxes out at 45 seconds on a good day.

Fathead is the player with fundamentals. He's a glue guy, does the little stuff. By definition he'll never be a star.

You people are in denial. Rozier and others went around him 1-on-1 like a traffic cone. lmao

Can't wait until the guy gets cut after his contract is up so we don't have to talk about him anymore.

Everyone gets burnt at times. And it was by Rozier, who's a rookie with a lot of upside. Not great, but I hardly call giving up 2 points "getting torched".

Truly, I'm still not sure what to think of Kyle. I'm rooting for him, I really like his arm length.

With his arm length, Kyle should be able to play the passing lanes very well. He did it a last night against Boston when he was out there. But it was only 6 minutes though. I want more of that.
I keep rooting for Kyle, and he seems to continually drop in the rotation. Perhaps I should stop rooting for the guy...

Actually, I have come to believe that Kyle is a bad fit with this Spurs team. Perhaps it would be better for him AND the Spurs to trade him...

This assumes a pretty outdated view of the Spurs' D. No one guarded anyone one-on-one all night. The Celtics screening, and the Spurs kept switching. Kawhi made more than one mistake on switches, including two Crowder threes that weren't what got him pulled. You're totally right that Kawhi isn't a bad defender, not last night and not all year. The issue is that people will watch a game and then make up to fit their player-fandom.

Kyle got got a steal, blocked two shots and boarded twice in six minutes. He only got scored on once on a severe mismatch with no help. It was a great game. Meanwhile, people have to dive through hoops to explain why it's not Kawhi's fault that everyone plays better D when he's not on the court. I like Kawhi quite a bit and think he's a wonderful defender, which is why my hypothesis had nothing to do with him being bad on D.
Everyone knows you wanted him to stick to 18ppg so Danny can get his 15ppg..Dont lie to yourself now boy.

Only you and other CoK followers would think that's an either/or. But if it makes you feel better, Kawhi was my first pick in fantasy, so I'd love him to go all Westbrook now from that standpoint. I just want the Spurs to win games more.

I still believe in Fathead tbh

    The last of the Mohicans

I wanted to resist this troll bait.

I couldn't shame on me. lol

Actually doesn't matter. Merry Christmas all.

He will help when he gets chances. Ppl who think he doesn't do anything right just look for too many legs from the cat...

Spanish expression: "le buscan demasiadas patas al gato." If he wasn't impactful in any way whatsoever he wouldn't play for Pop, they wouldn't have picked up his option etc.

He has been too shy offensively, forever his problem apparently, but he's impactful on defense. Otherwise he wouldn't get play from Pop. The stats back that up. He just sniffs out plays and is good on help defense, kind of detects what the opponent is going to do next I guess. He has a good instincts rebounding, sort of tracks the ball well and can grab it with that length and anticipation and has has the length to bother passes and cause deflections etc. He has forever been too shy with his 3 ball and his shots... but he does some things at the NBA level.

ahhh guys have nothing better to do than to troll.

Oh here comes SAgirl...The poster that suddenly became a Manu and Simmons hater...And you wonder why? Its cause his boy Anderson is losing so much minutes with Manu and Simmons being the main minutes beneficiary.

I wouldnt trust her with a Manu or Simmons take even iif it meant my life.

You really are ridiculous sometimes though. Manu and Simmons get more minutes because they're better players who bring more to the team. Fathead is an end of the bench player now for a reason.

Not sure if you called the thread or the my post a troll bait, but I actually do believe in Kyle. I think we can probably find a few guys that still like him on the board.

And quite honestly, he only got this massive hate on the Spurs board because of your "love" for him. It became cool to hate him just to piss you off.

Cory Joseph wasn't better than Kyle in his 3rd year, but he didn't get 10% of the hate.

Harlem said something in some old thread and I actually agree with him : It would have been better for Kyle if he was actually drafted by a franchise that would give him more freedom to play and figure out how to be effective offensively in the NBA. We actually have to give him props for playing exactly the opposite way of his high school/college days.

Instead of being a ball-dominant offensive player, Kyle became a very good defensive player and he plays off the ball most of the time. Who would have guessed that ? Nobody really.

Kyle needs to stop hesitating to shoot the ball. It would help his game immensely if he had a decent 3p shot. Every time I watch him play, he seems afraid to screw up. With Joseph was the same deal until the 4th year. He only became a weapon late in his stint with the Spurs when he started to play more aggressive.

Dude came in and played incredible D for six minutes, and there's a thread lambasting him. Meanwhile, Kawhi got pulled aside by Pop for defensive miscues, and people can't even entertain the idea that he's not playing good D this year. Vintage ST.
Can you tell us about Danny Green awesome defense though? I mean you did say it was irreplaceable?

Sorry if that wasn't clear, I thought it was.
I actually only became an advocate for the player after guys were already trolling but it's possible it became cool to piss me off and it got magnified.
Some guys do enjoy the negative attention just a bit too much. The board is a magnet for a bit of antisocial behavior and you see it in all kind of mysoginist, phobic, racitst, etc comments. You just got to have a thick skin or stay away.

Agree with you in everything else. I just wanted to reply to join in your support for the guy... but then I kept chatting about the comment about the trolling. I haven't taken you for a troll about this or any other opinions.

Yep. He can be a solid piece on this team. Needs some PT though to develop his consistency. Good defender in small ball lineup as the 4.

Needs to attack with the ball. I like him going to the rim.

    Good for you!
I try not to be nasty... I have figured out by now that it's just not my style and it actually wears me out to go at someone who is bent on being antisocial or pedantic. I have on occasion gotten to that level and it has worn me out tremendously instead of the negative attention seeker who thrives in that I guess.
