Too late for that. That would have been an astute observation any time this century. Music was the first vehicle to see how influential the media can be on people's decision making and tastes and it died with the influx of boy bands and bad rappers.
I don't even know a thing about modern rap today. I saw a cover of a Source Mag not too long ago with Young Thug and Gucci Mane, I guess that's how those are spelled, and I thought it was a metro-sexual fashion mag at first site. I imagine this dude is Soldier Boy 2.0?

A few days ago I mixed some, Ink Spots, Billie Holliday, The Mills Brothers, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Art Tatum etc. Cool black music from the late 30's to the late 40's. Some really great sounds there, then ya think about the garbage out there today. it really is a bit depressing.
Too much is about making $$$$ now, and what will the kids buy. That wasn't the case back in the day.

Naw.....just shows we have gotten to ol man age. Our parents thought the music we listened to was trash, now we think the music our kids listen to is trash. Its just music moving forward. But, I do have to admit the played now adays sucks!!!

My music library goes from 1896 to 2016. Great stuff in every decade if you have a wide variety of taste.
