Only saw part of the first episode (which was loosely based on "A Study in Scarlet"- too loosely, imo) but it's definitely well-casted with berbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson.

As of right now, it's the only show I watch. So I don't know how it is compared to current series. But I think it's pretty good still. Blew its load in the first season, though.

Episodes are an hour and a half long each one is like watching a movie. Sub les are a must.

Yep, that English is tough.
Finally dug into this show over the weekend. Love it. Well written and great acting. I did end up turning on sub les in the 2nd or 3rd episode. I could understand everyone fine except for berbatch. Especially when he went on one of his rambles.
Very enjoyable.
That Old English is too fast and complex for my slow American brain. I had the same problem with Deadwood.Yep, that English is tough.
