Most times Spurs are #2 ... I would have liked KD in SA ...

Basically wanted to get his ass carried. Looking at that list I'm convinced he still would have joined the Warriors if they won the championship. The only question would have been whether the Warriors would make the moves to get him after B2B les.
In order of personal glory Thunder>Clippers>Spurs>Cavs>Warriors
It's BS. He only says that because he knows how much respect the entire league has for the Spurs and Popovich. He hates Leonard and everyone knows it.
Apparently, Spurs are like that great girl that's good for you, but it's kinda boring so you never pick her, then tell your friends you should have.
It's a technicality anyway. Warriors could and should have won the Finals. They were fully equipped to be a championship and were improved from the previous season. Actual le or not didn't make much difference.
I don't blame him for getting away from WB. But they did almost reach the Finals and choked.
I think Durant just knows asterisks and analysis don't speak louder than a ring. Whatever ridiculous super team you put together, if you won you won. You can still take credit as the best player. Lebron set up the precedent for that.
Eh, I don't see too many similarities with what LeBron did, unless you just mean Durant made a move as a free agent (which applies to everyone).
LeBron went to a Heat team that was either outside of the playoffs or being bounced in the 1st round. Sure, Bosh joined but he was a top 20 player with no success previously. , Bosh was injured almost an entire playoff run and they still made the finals (and LeBron routinely led the Heat in Pts/Ast/Rebs/Stls in their championship runs). The Cavs' second best player was Mo Williams, and instantly went to a 20 win team when LeBron left.
GSW are the 2-time defending WC Champs, 1 minute away from going back to back, have 3 top 15 players on the roster including the back-to-back MVP, and where the le favorites (according to Vegas) for this season even before Durant signed (OKC had 7/1 odds, third). It's essentially the biggest front-running move in NBA history. Him trying to say he's taking a hard road or saying he wouldn't have signed if GSW shows his insecurities with accepting he's a front-runner.
I think you make very valid on why Durant's move is worst (except for people who don't mind, or player fans), but it's still the same concept to me.
Lebron just didn't have the same level of certainty, and his team up was more modest, so to speak.
Let's say, hypothetically, that Durant, Curry, Dray and Thompson decided to all leave their teams and sign Philly, along with a couple of nice ring chasers that are willing to sign for cheap. Is it that big of a difference? Miami were not contenders, but it's not like he signed with the exact same roster they had before.
In any case, it's the same point to me. Old concepts of compe ion and meaning of championships don't have the same value to these guys as they had to old timers of the NBA. A ring is a ring.
She was actually giving birth to Tony's son.![]()
We were even closer than that.
It was OKC or GS. Everything else is bull .
Still, I consider GSW to be closer to going B2B as they had already one in the bag. The effects of 6 had direct impact on the 2014 beat down, imo
One person gets it.
Like a Betty to the Warriors' Veronica?
KD coming in would hinder Kawhi's growth tbh
Had to look it up. Apparently yes![]()
I guess in theory it's the same thing. But for me we already know that core has won a historical amount of games and a le , so they're not an unknown. Maybe LeBron had the same initial fear - ironically he ended up carried his teams even after leaving to the Heat.
Honestly, part of your points about rings is the fault of these retired players and sports media, imo. You have Robert Horry and Kenny Johnson punking Hall of Hamers because they don't have rings. The 'Gotta win a ring!' culture affects sensitive folk like Durant particularly, and he'd rather win one the easiest way possible than to have a chance to retire without one and be criticized (even though he's avoided criticism his entire career).
Durbeta really is a complete pussy. If he had any pride or desire to lead a team, the Thunder and Clippers would have been at the top of his list, not the bottom.
Fair points.
Well, at least the Clippers have been choking out of the playoffs for years and had an actual need at his position.
OKC of course needed him, though I understand not wanting to play with Westbrook.
