Weak trade deadline ...
If both pan out, Noel's skillset is more valuable than Okafor's skillset. Not sure why you are acting like that's so unreasonable, tbh.
got to start somewhere. Nice to get a young shot blocking center. If we ever get serious about contending again, we still need that big piece but he could be a good complimentary option.
just need dirk to retire already
why would you bet on an undersized "defender" that can't defend the pf spot, with a massive injury history absolutely 0 signs of improvement in even the most basic things like fts and that is 100% reliant on athleticism...
With Barnes, Matthews, and Noel, Dallas has solid #3,4, & 5 guys on a contending team, just need to get a #1 and #2, PIECE OF CAKE
Good for Dirk, tbh. Even if he's hindering the advancement of the franchise, he's Dirk, he's allowed to do whatever the he wants at this point.
yeah i actually like how the team is structured.. obviously RC knows what he's doing.. even if you assume a lineup with dirk and seth curry, it still matches perfectly, on paper...
Raven going down with the ship ...
Agreed. And he has been playing well lately tbh
Dario Saric didnt like the Sixers moves : https://streamable.com/swrva
The plus/minus numbers for okafor vs Noel were startling in favor of Noel
What's wrong with those names? Those are examples of bigmen that played great defense and were very effective off the ball on offense (if you want I can concede you Bosh and KG as stretches). That's exactly what I was talking about, tbh.
P/S: I don't remember ever arguing Boris > Duncan on the post, but on the latter parts of Duncan's career that was probably true, tbh.
No reason for this trade. They should have just tanked for the #1 pick...
they can still tank, it's a protected pick
They sound very optimistic here locally. Fans, media, FO, looking for a baby Tyson. I will say this if he ever gained anything close to his old explosiveness he would be a steal.
Remember. TYSON was injury prone before Dallas and they do have a good med stafff ...
He will be a restricted fa and some team will force Dallas to spend big bucks. Then they would have big money committed to Wes, Noel, and Barnes. Not exactly a core that can get you to the playoffs.
And how does this trade prevent them from tanking? They have as much chances (if not more) of ending up with a top 10 pick. A top 10 pick, Noel and Barnes is a decent rebuilding start, tbh.
Fair concern ...
I don't think I've actually seen him hoop since he was at Ken y but I like the idea of Nerlens. Hopefully he stays healthy, seems like he's usually dealing with lingering injuries imo
Idk why there'd be strong feelings about this trade one way or the other. If Dallas has to give its 1st this year then it becomes a trade for them but if that doesn't happen it's a pretty neutral trade imo
Noel is a beast defensively and a good finisher. With good minutes he'll be an extremely effective player. Philly obviously knew he was walking and needed to get a first rounder for him.
why dont nba players wear steel cap shoes? in football they do that ...
I think this is a great move for the Mavs. Noel has the potential to be very good, and even if he ends up being just a guy, replacement level player getting starter's minutes, this is essentially Justin Anderson + 2 second rounders that they gave up. If Noel flops, and I don't think he will, it didn't cost the Mavs much anyway to get him. They get to see him in uniform for two months before deciding whether to match his RFA offers. I don't think Anderson is going to flourish away from Dallas like Jae Crowder did.
