    ONE MORE TIME

Another little quiz for our EXPERT who can;t seem to answer anything.

    1. first black vocal group to have a number 1 hit on Billboard?
    2. only sprinter from Madagazcar to run in an Olympic 100m final?
    3. first NFL RB to have back to back 1000 yard seasons?
    4. Give me the names of 4 Memphis Jug bands?
    5. Put a last name behind these blues nicknames

    Hambone Willie Newbern
    Curley
    Funny Paper
    Little Hat
    St.Louis
    Georgia
    The Black
    Seven Foot
    Gatemouth

    5. Football nicknames, put in the last name

    Thunder
    Long Gone
    The Tank
    The Truck
    The Horse
    Golden Boy
    Speedy
    Big Daddy

Here's what the EXPERT will do.....nothing. Another bull excuse as to why he never answers anything. When it's real obvious he can't answer because he don't know and too lazy to try and fake it.

I have fun exposing jerks and punks and idiots on these boards. They all have a % of posters who get off messing with others while hidden away. I zero in on those little s. , some of them make Avante their thing to do here, hahaha~~~ Some show up after a week and Avante is like a magnet, here they come, hahahaha~~~~~

The real kicker is I'm exactly what I say I am, yep.....EXPERT.

Funny watching the little s play the silly games they do over this, hahahaha~~~

It was back in the 60's, I;m reading about Janis Joplin, she mentions this old black lady....Bessie Smith. I;m reading about Jimi Hendrix, he talks about this old black guitar player....Guitar Slim. Bob Dylan covers songs by Blind Lemon Jefferson and Bukka White on his debut album......who? Eric Burdon of The Animals talks about Kansas City blues shouter Big Joe Turner. Who are all those pepole? So I set to find out, that was 12 big books ago and over 5000 CD's with liner notes. I found out all about them blues.

What's really intersting isn't the Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, BB King, John Lee Hooker, it's those shadowy/obscure cats with only a record or maybe three, guys only a geek like me is aware of. Guys like...

    Rube Lacy
    Henry Spaulding
    Lane Hardin
    Bo Jones
    Bobby Grant
    Otis Harris
    J.D.Fox

.....all just as talented as the big names but for some reason just didn't record more than a record or a few.

Bobby Grant, what a shame he had only one record.

How great is Garfield Akers, he recorded two records, then....poof~~~~

Louisiana Johnny and Kid Beecher, gonna cut her all up.

    I know almost nothing about.....

    baseball
    hockey
    soccer
    auto mechanics
    opera
    ballet
    romance novels

Have no reason to bull that I do, why SFS lies about knowing things, he OBVIOUSLY knows nothing about...???

A true blues EXPERT knows who doesn't belong here, SFS has no clue.

    Blind Willie McTell
    Blind Willie Walker
    Blind Blake
    Blind Boy Fuller
    Blind Harvey Hull
    Blind Willie Reynolds
    Blind Willie Baker
    Blind Gary Davis
    Blind Mamie Forehand

So tell us SFS which two weren't blind? No bull as to why ya can't answer this, ok? Cool the tap dance routine, answer the question.

Ever notice he never asks me anything, , he doesn't even know any questions to ask, hahahaha~~~~~

    SFS

There are 3 famous (in the blues world) cases of cats who could have recorded under another name, there is a real mystery going on there.

    Who?

Not talking about those we all (guys like me) aware of like John Lee Hooker and Blind Willie McTell.

Who did Delta legend Willie Brown suppose to have "maybe" also recorded as....well?

Dude, do something, ing fake it, but do something, ok? Dude, ae you really so ing lazy ya can't even Google this stuff?

    This is an EXPERT, hahahahaha~~~~

    Let me guess...

SFS...I don't waste my time with silly trivia, being an expert goes far deeper than that. So don't waste my expert time with all that silliness. I have a responsibilty to all us experts to maintain a certain level, a level far above silly trivia questions.

    (all the time thinking....I don't know )

one of my friends is a big blues fan, and when i told him about SpursforSix, the most impressive blues expert on the internet, he was really impressed
you don't understand, i showed him SFS's post history that showed his unparalleled vast array of knowledge when it comes to the blues
Did the same last week...sort of. I have a buddy who shows up at the bar I frequent that is always talking blues. I decided to try to impress him a bit and I stole some of SFS's material. He was pretty blown away by "my" knowledge.

If your friend doesn't already know the Muddy Waters story (which is all SFS has ever Googled) then he's not a real blues fan.

Send him here and have him look Avante up and he will thank you for opening up a whole new blues world for him.

I do get a kick out of watching people. They just don't know how to act around a real EXPERT. So instead of taking the opportunity to learn things by picking his brain they take the immature route and act childish about it.

I learn all I can around those who know things.

    Watch this little people.

Hey SFS, talk to me about the first blues harmonica players to record, who was your favorite? Mine was Noah Lewis with the Cannon Jug Stompers.

Why is it the guy will totally ignore this or run some bull . No way the guy has a clue.

What famous rock band covered this?

The great Noah Lewis on harmonica.

You wanna show off, just say....I know a lot....and here they come, hahahaha~~~ So easy.

Human nature at work there and me being a master at knowing how to sell....well.

Ya want three bucks for something at a yardsale, so what do ya do yep, ask for five.

    Mexican...how much?
    Avante...five
    Mexican...three?
    Avante...hmmmm? Ah...ok.

    Ha~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Here it's just as easy.

Now what if I'd asked for three?

    Mexican...how much?
    Avante...three
    Mexican..two?
    Avante...nope~~~

I wanna talk some blues so how do I do it..."SFS ain't no EXPERT"....and here ya come and ya couldn't care less about the blues and nobody has talked with anyone about the blues. It has to be....that Avante brags too much I'll show him....OBVIOUSLY.

I know human nature, trust me, I made my living for 33 years establishing the need. Which is the key to all sales.

    I know

I'm not a huge fan of the harmonica to be honest. But let's go with Eddie Map who we can also talk about a career cut short. Was found dead...stabbed when he was just 20.
It was his story that made me check out some of his few works. Still not my cup of tea, but he was clearly a talent.

It's Eddie Mapp, he was in the Georgia school of the blues. So who did he cut some sides with? Who was the vocalist as Eddie played his harmonica?

What legendary blues harmonica cat was also stabbed to death, it was done with an ice pick. He crawled up to his womans door step and died right there. Who?

This great harmonica player played with....

    Lead Belly
    Lightnin' Hopkins
    Blind Boy Fuller
    Brownie McGee
    Woody Guthrie

Yeah...thanks. Well I guess that shows that I don't Google.

He only had a handful of recordings. Played with Curley Weaver. Yep...formed the Georgia Cotton Pickers.

There were more members of the Georgia Cotton Pickers than just Weaver and Mapp. Who was the other harmonica player and guitarists?

Mapp was best known for playing behind Slim Barton. Actually if ya really knew this stuff you start with Barton & Mapp. It's like Sonny & Cher.

Funny you'd bring up Mapp, just mixed that tune a few days ago, one of my favorites.

Who were the Georgia players? We had Eddie Mapp, Slim Barton, all those listed on that CD then....????
