Both parties currently suck with healthcare.
it didn't take you long to quit on the republicans. Just a few days ago you were hanging your hat on repeal and replace. The almighty Trump would get it done.

I'm still for repeal. But the American Health Care Act is a Progressive Lite plan. Screw that.

Your boy trump supports the American Health Care Act. You've taken his little carrot whole since you arrive in the political forum. Forgive me for being surprised you disagree with dear leader.

I can still support Trump while disagreeing with this. So much better than Killary. But yeah Health Care is complicated.

Still chasing that 30" trout. Got a 29 -1/2 fishing a tournament about 5 years ago.
    Baffin Bay.

Spring Is upon us. Best chance imo. My best is only 28 1/2.

Personally I would rather hunt slot reds in back lakes. When I go with my cousin we trout fish with plastics on backside of St, Jose. Sun comes up more, hit the lakes with spoons and the fun begins. Requires a boat from Rockport though. The wading is very tough in the lakes but it's too much fun. In actual Aransas bay you get the nicer sandy bottoms to wade for trout. Also like St. Charles with the oysters.for trout. The alligator I photographed on the other page was in a back lake in St. Charles. Redfish bay is also great with miles of skinny water for reds.

This winter was so mild the bait fish really never left and the trout fishing was much more consistent. I love sal er wade fishing. Especially if I can find a real quiet muddy oyster ridden place with the kayak. The air boats and skinny water boats avoid them. Fence lake on the backside of St. joes is absolutely run over by air boats but I have found some places to wade they avoid. The idiots run over so many reds because they are not in large schools as often. And they can't see them in the slightly mudder water running so fast so as not to get stuck.

Gonna get a peddle drive and visit rigs off shore on nice days. Catch some jacks and kings for fun and try to get some snapper closer to the rigs. The red snapper are really picked on, but I think I know how to get mangrove snapper for some great meat. They got some 5-12 lb mangrove snapper. Seen em snorkeling. Just gotta try some different methods and see what works. They hang so close to the rigs and just dive back in and cut the line. Gonna have to horse em out with larger tackle.

i could write about fishing forever...

BRW didn't quit wading just can't do mud anymore.
    Damn that's to bad.
I stay in shape for kayaking and wadefishing. My knees are still good though. Cut out some running and replace with swimming and biking. Only run on soft surfaces and buy really good shoes.

You should check out the TKF forum. I've got two wilderness rides and have been kayaking at the coast since '98 before academy knew what a kayak was *sigh*. Had to slow my wade fishing down after the knee issue but still get out.
In have a 20 yo Ocean Kyak Drifter made for scuba in the pacific. The well in back is shaped for oxygen tanks. But it perfect for skinny water and it's 34" wide so I can stand and cast if wading starts getting difficult. It's a beast but getting thin. The oysters have taken their toll on the underside.

I don't eat redfish anyhow, too bloody and I hate cleaning them, though there's a trick where you can poke your finger beneath their pectoral fin into their heart region and bleed them to reduce the bloodline. I catch and release mostly, only keep a couple trout, mangrove snapper and flounder now and then (offshore fish notwithstanding of course).

I caught one over 50" a few weeks back, 12lb test on a 2500 Shimano... took forever to land. Had to give chase.

Get you some 40lb flouro leader and upgrade your drag washers to carbontex so you can lock it down pretty well, then your drag is still going to be how well you can hold the kayak from moving into the rig.

We often leave the boat running and when we hook up the other guy backs out quick to drag the fish off the structure. Then you can fight how you like once in more open water.

The spanish macks are thick as well in open water, mixed with some kings so that's always fun (and they are decent table fare as well, though I don't care for kings).

Do you blame them, boutons, after the CBO's disastrous scoring of ACA? CBO was so off on enrollment and cost - it's almost like the election polls.

They are a pain to clean. They eat the best of knifes or electric blades. The smaller slots 20-22 are the best to eat. I really don't mind the red strip. It's not that big on small fish.

I have heard about that bleeding out, but my fish stay on my stringer as I am wading. Don't get on ice till I get back to my truck. I will try that on my cousins boat possibly. I like em half s on the grill so I'm fine with the taste as long as they are slots.

I just watched a you tube on replacing drag ball bearings to ceramic.

Yeah on a yak this breakage is gonna be a problem. But since the mangove snapper are smaller I might be able to get it done. There must be some technique because I know there are some yakers who do this. I won't eat kings.

Spanish Mackerel? How do you make them? I had a couple of rounds with those oily bas s and never keep them?

Drag shouldn't have ball bearings, it's a braking system. Your spool will have bearings that work drag on or off. The drag will have washers.

Ask me again in a few decades but who wants to live to be 90? Imagine you're like 95. You remember 40 years ago you were 55. You still couldn't sustain an erection. You cannot even remember ever sustaining an erection.

Grill the fillets, use a very sharp knife (I use Dekker) and remove the skin, leaving a solid fillet. You'll need a solid grill, or some foil. They also make good ceviche. Teeth like razor blades, be careful handling them.

Im gonna need a bigger bait caster. I use a smaller Lews reel and it casts great. But your right, they were talking about the Al bearings replaced with ceramic bearings. If I can cast all sorts of lures with small adjustments I'm not touching the braking yet. Maybe when it's older.

Cant you just clamp down on the drag with a bigger bait caster? I think I might have the bait to preferentially target the mangrove snapper. And of course backing up with the kayak is not gonna do it, even with the reverse peddle drives they have, Its too slow.

Any suggested seasoning/marinade on the Spanish Mackerel? 2 more months and I should get some. When I get closer to the passes. They are fun to catch but I have thrown so many back. I know they are around when I get my line cut by a quick little run. Get the lure with the longer hook shanks and hook them in the mouth is the only way. I don't like changing my leader because I feel like the trout see it.
