Or he should stop ing around and do the Syrian travel ban that makes sense and won't be found uncons utional because of a religious test.
Or he could just start issuing EO travel bans daily and see how many tax payer dollars Hawaii is willing to spend in court.

i don't understand this though. SCOTUS justified obamacare as a tax despite obama specifically saying it wasn't a tax. so they ignored the president's words then. but they're taking trump's words into full consideration like this?

i think the first exec order was clearly a religious test because it had provisions about making exceptions for religious minorities. this one though? i don't agree with the policy, but i think it ultimately is legal
No need to understand it as it won't hold up.

And lol at Hawaii accepting all of FIVE middle eastern refugees in 14.5 years.

yeah well, i guess what goes around comes around... folks on the right weren't complaining when obama's immigration executive order was overturned in the summer. didn't hear them whining about activist judges!

In any case I don't see Hawaii having rule of law on their side. This EO was cleaned up unlike the first.
Well, it'll go through the court system. It shouldn't take THAT long. IMO, the appeals court has better grounds to lift the TRO in this particular instance, but we'll see.

It's so funny watching conservatives talk big about the cons ution and then defend Dear Leader wiping his ass with it even when it's protecting muh religion.

Sounds like this is personal with Hawaii to you, but this has nothing to do with Hawaii... it's just one judge with jurisdiction issuing a TRO. Could've been Ohio, it doesn't matter.

The sooner the administration appeals, the quicker this is going to move through the court system. It won't be years (maybe not even months) to hear from an appeals court.

If the administration wants to expedite this, they could go seek a declaratory judgement on a friendly court (ie: 5th circuit), have competing rulings, and trigger SCOTUS review.

IOW, there's ways to accelerate this process. Thing is, without confirmation of new SCOTUS judges, it might not be the best route. Plus SCOTUS review could take longer than just waiting for the appeals' court.

I've got nothing against Hawaii I just find it funny one of the most least welcoming states for middle eastern refugees is crying about their tourism and economy being hurt by people they don't welcome anyways.

The thing is that the judge isn't ruling about banning refugees, but banning muslims. AFAIK, one of the plaintiffs is a local muslim leader.

Obama has been a Hawaiian judge this whole time. How could we not have seen it?

    http://www.wrapsnet.org/admissions-and-arrivals/

Checking Wrapsnet this morning, here is a summary of the refugees admitted to Hawaii in the last 14 years, 5 months and 10 days:

Of the total 123 refugees they “welcomed” to Hawaii, the largest number (66) were Vietnamese who came in the early years (FY03,04,05). Another 40 were Burmese (most Burmese are Christians). Only 5 from any Middle East country came. In 2004, 1 Iranian was resettled there and in 2013 they got a grand total of 4 Iraqis. None of the thousands of Syrians admitted to the US in the last 2 years were seeded in Hawaii

A smattering of Russians and Ukrainians were placed there over the years.

There were no refugees sent to Hawaii at all in FY11 and last year
    Most Burmese are Buddhist.

Barry doing work for his globalist buddies. Did you know he spent 36 million dollars (taxpayer) to keep his administration quiet concerning leaks and corruption within his organization. You can bet MSM was/is on the take; that's why we heard nary a peep during his 8 year tenure.
