if healthy and keeping his together 4-5 is a pretty reachable goal. even likely
This. He relies on skill more than athleticism. Still being effective at a high level at 35 is doable.

All depends on who the Spurs can put next to him. If they can get a legit center, he'll probably be good for a while. If they can't find a guy to get next to him and he has to play center, he may break down more quickly than people realize.

Horford next off-season. Make it happen, PATFO!

Dirk was the Mavies "go to" guy at 32-33 years old in 2011 when they sneaked in that fluke trophy.
To be fair, they got robbed in 2006, so 2011 was just making up for that.

Much like how the Spurs 2007 le made up for the tragedy of 2006. And 05 made up for the tragedy of 04. And 14 made up for the tragedy of 13 and 12. It's great being a Spurs fan.

Wade did the same thing to the Mavs that Dirk did to the Spurs. If one was fair, so was the other.

2-4 years but it really shouldn't matter. So long as Aldridge is still a threat, that should be enough with Leoanrd growing into supers om tbh.

4 years. But with his numbers likely to take a dip he may only get onto the all star squad maybe twice. The average NBA fan voting seems to be borderline re ed

That's why I posed the question the way I did in the OP. I meant 'All-Star level of play', like Duncan with his still excellent per 36 offensive numbers.

Although it's probably a pipe dream and a less than 10% chance happening, I'd love to see the Spurs go after Joakim Noah, he's a free agent next year (assuming Timmy retires, which is 50/50 at best)

They will. I'm sure that was part of their conversations with him, given his preference for playing power forward and the fact that his game is more suited for it. If Duncan plays out his contract, I'm confident Splitter will be the replacement. If he doesn't, it's up in the air, but it'll probably be someone of similar ilk.

Horford is not a legit center; he's a power forward that's been masquerading as a center his entire career. Not that they wouldn't love to have him though.

2-4 more prime or near prime seasons sound about right for Aldridge. Not only is he not overly reliant on athleticism, but despite the amount of regular season minutes he's played, he has little playoff mileage and none internationally, so he's a relatively young 30.

As long as Pop is coach, LMA will not see 36 mpg. 32 for LMA, KL, and DG. TP will get around 28 to 30. TD will see 24 to 26. Of course, the game will decide final individual game minutes. IE. Close game in the 4th quarter, maybe 30 mpg.

All others will be decided by game situation and matchups. I think that LMA will see 3 years at all star level and 3 more for at a less than all star starter level, but at a top 5 level.

I thought you phrased it well. Especially playing with Duncan and in the Spurs system, I do not expect (nor do I want) Aldridge's averages to be what they have been in his career thus far. But I do expect his level of play to improve and be reflected in his advanced metrics. So, if he takes to Pop's coaching and the Spurs system, then it is not impossible for LaMarcus' later career to more or less parallel Tim's. I expect LMA to perform at All-Star level for 4-5 yrs, and I think it possible that he will perform at a very high level after that.

I believe PATFO are possibly even now planning beyond the LMA era. Tim plays the 2015-16 season and possibly the 2016-17 season. David West plays another 3-5 seasons, and LMA plays another 7-9 seasons. They all end up retiring around the age of 39. PATFO would be able to replace them on a staggered basis, maintaining maximum continuity. In the event Timmy were to retire after next season, we could possibly sign Noah or Horford. But a lot depends on the development of Marjanovic and Milutinov and possibly even Ndoye.

No Spur has averaged 32 mins for 3 seasons, and no Spur has had the luxury of sharing time with the likes of LMA, David West or Timmy (not to mention Boris). I don't expect any of those guys to average 30 mins in the regular season. Playoffs is what we are aiming for, and they are a different story.

I bet LMA will get his 34+ mpg next season. I doubt he signed here just for a ring, he still wants his star status and the numbers to reflect it, and my guess is Pop will let him loose in the regular season to get them.

His shot mechanics are good already. Let's see if Chip can help him become a consistent 38% 3pt shooter.

Timmy redux? ing disgraceful comparison. The work ethic doesn't even compare.

Duncan at 36-39 years old >>>>>>>>> 40 year old Duncan >>> current Aldridge

I'm not one to usually kick a man while he is down but this was just too good to pass out, tbh.
