It's most likely a game decision. Every hour counts with an ankle sprain. Looked like Grade 1 but who knows...

Wait, if it's only an ankle injury, why was he so mediocre up until that point?
Mediocre? He had 14 rebounds 22 pts blocking shot defending harden what the more do you want?

Have none of you gots ever played ball? ing tweak. He's going to be fine. Pop sitting him may have been got Phil Jackson technique. From one overrated coach to another.

He could hardly move out there. He was barely running on defense, and forced a couple shots that looked obviously bothered. That's not normal Kawhi.

Props to Kawhi for trying to power through, but a bench player at 100% is better than a star player trying to force 50%. It was hard for me to watch, tbh...I was just waiting for him to strain it further.

Even when Pop makes the right move and the Spurs WIN THE GAME, there are still armchair coaches who think they know better than the 5x champion. If Kawhi was in, one of Simmons, Green, or Manu would be on the bench, and they were all instrumental in the win.

dubs are the best team in the west this year and pretty much have been all season. so, beating tnem-IF we get by the rockettes-would be a massive upset. that being said, i want more games for the young fellers to earn some valuable experience towards next year and just to get the chance to play. one can never know what injuries from GS could happen that would increase the odds, unlikely as that seems.
I would go along with that IF our "young fellers" were getting court time. Simmons has been, and he has stepped up well. (I wish there were some way to know if that level of play were maintainable.) Anderson has had less opportunity but hasn't really made much of it. Murray is kind of playing sporadically and doing okay, but Bertans is not getting any burn at all. And Deadman has clearly been buried. Pop will live and die with the geezers.

a twisted ankle means he will be more cautious with jumping for rebounds and getting to the rim. good news it's his right ankle so he can jump well from the classic left foot. bad news-if he twists the same ankle he is done for week minimum. I would leave him in SA him for game 7.

None of us never played NBA ball you got. He couldn't even play in OT of a must win game. Big difference than your pickup games with pre-teens at the local Y.

He almost certainly would've had a 20/20 game had he not have sat out late.

Yeah, noticed Kawhi getting treatment on the right knee prior to the ankle.

How long has that been happening? I haven't been able to watch consistently throughout the year. But, he did look like he was a little held back even prior to the ankle. Wondering what exactly he's been playing through.

That little Ryan Anderson held onto the back of Kwa jersey and jerked down when Kwa was elevating for a dunk.
As well as holding him down with the other arm. <that part was just a good foul.

But back to the jersey pull down...
That kind of can throw off your landing. I hope that is not when it started.

Know he's had some issues in the past, just haven't seen enough to know if something happened or if this is preventive. He definitely looked a little hampered from what I've seen and known as an athlete - as much as I was one, at least.

Yeah Anderson is dirty. Kawhi definitely had words with him. Anderson acted like 'what?' but Kawhi called him out.

Didn't notice that.. i thought Kawhi hurt his knee on the free throw line dunk attempt in transition when Beverley tried to draw the charge? Was the Anderson one a different incident?

Kawhi was shown getting off the buss after they arrived in Houston and he was walking fine with no limp so that's a good sign.
