They have a window of 3 years if they don't up with who they surround their quadcore lineup. Steph would be 33, Durant would be 32, Klay and Draymond would be 30 by then. I find it hard that they would suddenly fall off a cliff by that age. They'll still be elite. Decisions have to made with Iggy and Livingston. They shouldn't hold on to them for too long. Thank them for being a part of a wonderful run, but they shouldn't keep them in Golden State in longer contracts. However, if it comes to a decision on who to keep, I'd keep Iggy more than Livingston.

They shouldn't hold on to ring chasers as well. If they find better replacements for West, Pachulia and McGee, they should go after those replacements. No one's gonna help them through trades so they're gonna have to do it through smart drafting and treading free agency carefully.
This isn't the NFL. Rookies don't do in the NBA. Not even Lebron or Kobe did as a rookie. Or MJ.

lekang avgs a triple double, havnt checked his efficiency, but when his team needed scoring to negate the gsw run:
    - he was either sitting on the bench cucked
    - he was deferring to bricklayers
    - wasting possessions allowing irving to continue with the iso circus shot bricks, as he stands on the perimeter viewing
    - if ur scoring at a high efficiency, why aren't you chucking more shots up?

all of the above he does that every game

What a joke. One of the most average finals games I've seen in a while and it's the highest rated, ever?

For you to be rooting for a team that has produced outstanding rookies, I thought you would believe in this more. I think they'll find one or two usable pieces in the draft. Case in point, Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw have turned out well for them so far.

Parker, Ginobili were unplayable in the playoffs in clutch situations as rookies. Leonard was the weak link out of TD/Manu/TP/Jackson/Leonard late game lineups in '12. Duncan was good as a rookie but D-Rob was still clinging to alpha status at the time.

Now NFL, on the other hand... Dak, Zeke were obviously instant impact.

What are you on about? Tim Duncan was superior to Dak and Zeke as a rookies (that's two players and it was a combo deal for Dallas). TD was a top 10 player in the NBA and the Spurs' go to guy in the playoffs.

Parker was also very good in his first ever playoffs and although Manu wasn't an overall top 3 player on the team, he came up clutch helping us win a Championship in his first year.

Parker shriveled up like crazy against the Lakers in '02. Very green and often unplayable, got lost on offense when they packed the paint and a huge liability on defense.

Manu had a couple plays in the '03 playoffs but he was definitely a bench player that year and down on the rotation all year. Mainly because that was such a deep team with all those vets.

That wasn't the reason why he was down in the rotation for most of the year. Manu suffered a major ankle injury during the World Championships of Basketball in '02. It caused him to miss a lot of training camp and when he comeback it still wasn't hundred percent. The ankle limited his playing time for most of the year until he fully recovered.

He re-injured it once in early November 2002 and again a week or two before all-star weekend. But let's not forget that one of his best games of that regular season was the very first game in October 2002 in LA when we beat the Lakers for the first time out of many (8 total) that year. The next 2-3 months were pretty bad for him, though. A lot of zero point games with less than 10 minutes of playing time.

I remember his first game very well. I remember Tim played horrible in that game but the Spurs still won the game due to Speedy,Malik, and Drob playing really well along with Manu. There was one point of the game where Manu had made some amazing hustle plays that it got Kobe's attention. After one of the plays Kobe ended up asking Bruce who is this guy. Steve Smith had a groin injury in that game which paved the way for Jax to get minutes. Had that injury not happened Jax does not eventually become a starter.

Yep, Tim was trash because he was in foul trouble. That one gave me hope that maybe we had a better supporting cast than we'd had in years.

Of course, the Spurs really limped out of the gates that year and for stretches in Nov, Dec, Jan it was looking like the Spurs were worse than the last year, middle of the playoff standings first or second round playoff fodder, and D-Rob was going to retire on a mediocre, uninspiring note.

    Boy was I wrong.
