Spurs can't even sign the coyote.
Get Gay and Gibson and we are still #2 in the West even if LMGay stays. , we're probably still #2 as is.
No... you should not. Just don't be gullible for ish like teams trying to get players to visualize being with a future team as their... whatevs. I don't care. Pursuit? Recruitment? All this is silly to me.
I just thank the Universe I have a great job to pay the bills comfortably and an amazing girl I don't deserve.
Basketball is just fun and games, in the grand scheme.
But, I am having much more fun than I should with TimDunkem having a true and constant meltdown theough all of this.

I'm actually asking how Austin is compared to San Antonio. Is there more to do there? More nightlife? I don't live in the US.
Jazz got Ingles for 4yrs 52mil and Spurs got a 6ft sg for 4yrs 50mil.![]()
Austin is actually a California city.
That isn't even up for debate. The nightlife in Austin is much better than SA. Austin is the state capital, so it has more high-income young people. It has a smaller population, but a lot of people live in the metro area - just aren't counted in the population numbers. Austin has an incredible tradition of music/musicians. It's the home of a major university. I can't even count the ways the nightlife is better. It's not that far from San Antonio, and they have built out the corridor in between so much that it's almost continuous development. Meh... maybe not continuous, but it's well built out.
I was just questioning the idea that the main reason SA can't land more free agents is because the nightlife isn't up to Austin standards. There's still a lot in SA, especially if you have money. And Austin isn't that far away. The Spurs have been "boring" for a long, long time, and that doesn't land the big endorsements. I think that's a bigger factor. That and the fact that Spur players have to work on both ends of the court.
tbf I live in the dirty Southeast side
That's another 25 mins of travel.
Not sure why you think the Jazz got a good deal. They overpaid because he's Gordon's boy. Thats a far worse signing than the Mills contract.
Was born and raised in Texas and lived in Austin for 6 years. Have now lived in LA for the past 5 years, and I can tell you they are very similar. Austin is basically a smaller and hotter/more humid wannabe LA. That's what it's become anyways. Wasn't always like that, but the combination of it being a college town + the Tech Industry exploding there + tons of Californians, New Yorkers, & other out-of-towners moving there over the past decade has made it that way. Both fun towns for young people though. Way better night life in ATX than in San Antonio. Much younger population, better vibe, prettier women, lots more to do, etc. San Antonio is a blue-collared military town. Majority of NBA players don't want that.
This explains so much....
Are you saying that's better value than Paddy?
I like Ingles but come on his numbers are pedestrian as and there's nothing about his game that jumps out. Just a white dude that is decent at a lot of things.
Who are you though?
GSH and BatManu20 hit it as far as Austin is concerned - except that driving in Austin is insane. It is a small city with large city commuting headaches.
Hispanic influence is far greater in San Antonio, which is expressed in its ethnicity and architecture. SA also has a great music tradition - largely Hispanic or Hispanic-influenced.
From a San Antonian's perspective Austin is a little over an hour away. If an Austinite ever thinks of San Antonio, it doesn't really matter how close or far away it is; who would ever want to go there? Austin folks generally don't really think about the Spurs any more often than they do the city of San Antonio.

Ah, , if you want to treat this as a serious discussion - the main reason the Spurs will never be moved to Austin is because it would siphon off some of the Mavs' fans. The league does some incredibly study of media markets before they place a team. Talk about moving the Spurs closer to the Mavs' back yard, and Cuban would have a fit. And the other owners would sympathize with him, and the plan would never see the light of day. It's the same reason that San Antonio or Austin won't get an NFL franchise, no matter what "they" say. It would drastically cut into the Cowboys' market and revenues. Both leagues are fine with things just the way they are. The Spurs couldn't just make the decision to move the team.
Yeah, but two cities already have two teams. I don't think the Mavs are that well represented in Austin at all, and Austin already gets Spurs games on Fox Southwest.
I'm not saying anything other than Austin is my favorite city in texas. Has nothing to do with drugs. The main draw to me is the music scene and a real melting pot of folks. Just a weird and different city like Portland. Asheville, nc, etc.
Music is more important to me than basketball. I only travel to San Antonio for play off games. Mainly finals games. On the days between games I shoot up to austin to hang out.
I'm on vacation and just trying to have the best time possible. It is purely a selfish reason on my part. Not speaking to player preferences.
If I was an nba player I'd go all magnum pi and just take helicopter up there to avoid that traffic.
I don't conside weed a real drug. That's all I do. Don't really even drink. Haven't done a hard drug in over decade other than when I go to a musical festival or a phish show, which is maybe twice a year .
You really can't go to a phish show sober. It's against the rules I think.
