Brandon Jennings was dropping 20/20 games before he tore his, and look at him now. Is he even in the league anymore?

Here's an article I remember reading from a couple years back that paints a pretty grim picture. http://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/bas...lles-recovery/
    I'll take this please:

Wilkins is the obvious best-case scenario, as he kept a string of seven-straight All-Star game appearances alive in his return from the injury in 1992-93. He actually averaged more points in his first season back, improved his shooting, continued to get to the free-throw line, and barely saw dip in his rate stats. He stands out as the outlier, and is basically the only player to return from a ruptured Achilles at something close to his previous form.

I am not sure if this is an argument that Simms did better because he scored more points.

Simms had more fouls, those fouls hurts us against GS
Simms also had more turnovers, while fewer assists than Kyle. And boy those turnovers did hurt us
Kyle had more blocks, rebounds, and overall played more within himself. One is better on O, and the other on D, with Rudy Gay, I think we have addressed our Offensive needs, Kyle might be a better choice against some teams.

There's no way Gay is going to effectively play SF, tbh..I'm sure they'll try it, but it'll fail..even prior to the devastating injury, nearly 40% of his minutes were at PF in today's NBA..with the injury undoubtedly taking away some of his physical gifts, he's definitely going to fit better at the 4..
So at PF we're looking at Pau/Gay/Bertans?

Would prefer Bertans as a stretch 4.

Nah, it's an argument that Kyle outplayed Simmons. Rate stats and advanced metrics have Kyle as the runaway winner. The difference in their defensive impact is huge.

Nothing on the stat sheet says he's past his prime. 30 should still be the guy's prime. Even if he diminishes some physically he's always been a good athlete. Obviously the big injury is the risk and I'm sure it's a calculated one. It also probably cut his cost in half, likely more than that
very much agree. no team could have never gotten this player and at 30 years old for this money unless health played a big factor

Gay should come off the bench, I don't think he should start.

Using advance metrics bad. Not understanding context.

Please stop doing this every year.

This doesnt mean . Psychological issues are more deterrants than anything after a serious injury. Rudy gay is a volume shooter and not a dunk machine. Hes here to knock down jumpers. The only Superstar i can ever remember achilles tear in prime was dominique. He came back as good as ever. Who else kobe and billups who were at the end of the road? He will be fine.

Wes Matthews was kind of respectable, this past season IIRC..his 1st season coming of the injury was absolutely horrendous, though..

Regardless, he's nowhere near what he was prior to the injury..

    Game 1
    Kyle - 4 points / 4 rebounds / 2 assist / 1 steal

    Game 2
    Kyle - 8 points / 5 rounds / 4 assist / 2 steals / 30% FG

    Game 3
    Kyle - 6 points / 9 rebounds / 5 assist / 1 block

    Game 4
    Kyle - 20 points / 7 rebounds / 2 assist / 4 steals

The Kyle played great or whatever against the GSW has been sooooo blown out of the water. He played like a serviceable NBA player... I get it though... that's a huge jump from the bum he has been over his career, but let's pump the brakes a bit.
According to advanced statistics, he was the Spurs 2nd best player in the playoffs.http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/SAS/2017.html

Dominique Wilkins had one of his most productive seasons coming back from the injury.
