That said, it wasn't very smart for Trump to go back to the "many sides" comments, given the level of freak out when he said it the first time.

In the hours after Monday's statement and Tuesday's reaffirmation of Saturday's statement he was informed that the base,,,that 60 million wasn't going remain 60 million for long. That in reality he was going to lose a substantial portion of that 60 million if he didn't reaffirm Saturday's statement of "many sides."
