I'm supposed to be travelling to Houston next Friday and attending the LSU-BYU game in NRG Stadium on Saturday. In your expert opinion, will this game be cancelled? I know the storm will be passed by then, but will the flooding and other damage cause the game to be axed? TIA

I'm going to say that that game will not be played. In Houston anyway.
I'm thinking it might get pushed back to Sunday or Labor Day. Houston won't be shut down too long.
Harvey could be much worse for the city than Allison. The potential is there for the city to be shut down for a few weeks.

Depends where since Bexar county is pretty large. You guys may be on the extreme NW side of it if it veers toward Houston/Louisiana like it might do, or if it goes back into the gulf and s up New Orleans you'll be spared most of the flooding. But you'll probably see lots of evacuees from Houston/Corpus coming in throughout the weekend. Power may even go out for awhile as the grid compensates and diverts power to those who need it most

“Mr. President, please take these comments with an open mind.

Now is the time to realize they are vacant and step to the plate as Commander-in-Chief and rally your troops.”
In desperation to stop this president from repeating the mistakes of 12 years ago — or worse — Brown even made a naked appeal to Trump’s personal political ambitions:
“In a natural or manmade disaster, every minute of delay within the bureaucracy turns into hours and days of delay on the ground.
Nothing is more frustrating — and deadly — than when a FEMA administrator has to fight through a bureaucratic jungle to get the resources needed from other departments and agencies.
And if they’re on vacation, or there is no one in that policy or procurement office, you have a situation that can be deadly — literally and politically.”
