Don't get your expectations too high with Lauvergne tbh... he is quite unconsistent, he has very solid games where you'd think wow dude is actually very solid and the next three of nothing... happens all the time with France and during length of his career.

man.. way to deflate and burst my bubble.
I suppose roleplayers on minimum and small deals will be inconsistent but so far he seems to be the teams 3rd big, and I am not partial to Gasol. Gasol was, for his salary, very disappointing in the playoffs, and unlike Lamarcus who took a lot of heat, deservedly, he quietly ducked under the radar. I would have been happy with Simmons being resign and Gasol let go, personally. I don't know what to tell you about this team's construction. I like some things about them, a lot but others made me scratch my head.

He started to fade last game. The Magic were jumping his passes, and he was clanging shots and playing bad D. So long as Pop starts Gasol, Joff has a rotation spot, but there will likely be a number of changes to the rotation coming up.

I would have liked to have seen more experiments in preseason frankly.

It's my hope that Rudy being brought along slowly (he didn't participate in the open gym and had his minutes managed plus rested one game), + Kawhi being injured, then Kyle tweaking an ankle altered preseason plans. But I also have seen Pop insist on his current lineup... it makes sense for me, whatever it was the coaches decided to do, they have to let them get enough time together and chemistry to figure it out... but one hopes that is not all there is in their bag of tricks. For them having constructed a team with only 3 traditional bigs, they have insisted a whole lot on playing them together as much as they can.

Is there any reason to believe Kawhi won't be ready by Game 1?
Who knows. The Spurs have been extremely cautious, also secretive about players' injuries.

But watching some preseason vids, Kawhi doesn't look good at all.

It was hard for him to take the ball

And he was limping. A little limp but still...

There also a part of "behind scenes" HEB commercials where Kawhi could barely sit.

Yeah, definitely see that limp. Thanks for posting. I'm worried on two levels. 1) for the immediate beginning of the season and 2) that this is something chronic that can affect Kawhi's career.

Considering the short preseason, probably after the last game on Friday.

Guys, do you know some sites where we can download the preseason Spurs games, if any?

Kawhi didn't touch a ball in the last two weeks. When Jabari Young shows before/after practices videos, all players are there but Kawhi.

We don't know if he'll play next Wesnesday but I doubt he will have a strong start to the season. In his first 7-9 games, he'll be rusty in limited minutes.

    2) that this is something chronic that can affect Kawhi's career.
    Are you religious, Bill?

May have to set out a few Kawhi icons and candles at the local Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral until he's healthy.

Maybe LaMarcus "I'm an alpha dog, no, really I am, I promise" Aldridge can sustain us the first month of the season.

Darn, this does not look good at all. I thought he'd be back to start the season.

Why isn't the San Antonio media asking more about how he's going?

I basically think we'll be alright, if a little slow in the beginning of the season.

We've been so secretive about Kawhi's condition I have no idea. I saw him at the game sitting with LMA and he looked happy and not the least bit distressed, but that doesn't speak to whether he is fit to play. You'd think this summer would have been enough and I heard he was training, but who knows?

Well in interviews Manu keeps talking about the team getting off to a slow start being without Tony and Kawhi (he includes Kawhi's name when he brings up Tony). He's mentioned that once or twice, so that Is why I am worried as Manu made it sound like Kawhi won't be ready to start the season.

I do wish joff to be good with Spurs but my expectations are quite long low tbh.. end of bench rotation player that's his ceiling, he has some Boris Diaw in him but unfortunately not the good side of Boris...

Boris could initiate the offense from the post. Before he got lazy anyways.
