there also would be no mutiny, and finn/rose wouldn't have gone to leave and meet del toro
I think it was more the principle of the matter than a strategic point. Poe's a nobody; he doesn't NEED to know what's going on 24/7. He just got a whole bunch of people killed by trying to be the hero. I could totally understand why he's not part of the inner circle.
Strategically, though, it makes sense to keep that as under-the-hat as possible. There could possibly be spies or bugs on board, and they were going to have to keep the ruse up until the last second. Think about what ended up happening once Poe found out: He immediately told Finn and Rose what was going on. Then Del Toro overhears and tells the First Order. Had someone just shot Poe in the head at the beginning of the movie, the Resistance gets onto that planet safe and sound. But no, Homeboy just had to know everything.

Yes, but again, it's not like Holdo was planning against that specific sequence. It could have been as simple as she was concerned about spies/bugs already on board. Remember that the FO had already somehow snuck a tracking device onboard. If she tells Poe, she has to expect that it will become common knowledge. You can sweep a meeting room for bugs and have guards keep people away. You can't realistically check the whole ship, which you'd have to make sure no one is hearing the plan who isn't supposed to.
Plus, I am not even sure Poe would have gone for that plan in the first place. Dude was fresh off killing folks, and he hadn't been brought down a few pegs yet. Even when he knew the plan, he still wanted Finn and Rose to go through with their . I don't see why the plot wouldn't have happened actually. Finn would still be trying to escape. Rose would still stop him. They'd still figure out there was a way to stop the tracker. So I don't see why Poe wouldn't encourage them to do it anyway. The only difference I could really see would be that Poe would probably go with them, since he wouldn't have a mutiny to incite.
are we sure thats how their hyperspace tracker worked? i dont remember that specifically
I am not sure. It's possible that it wasn't like that. Finn and Rose knew how to worked, but I don't know if Holdo knew exactly how they did it either, given that they were surprised. Even if they did know there wasn't a tracker, it still doesn't eliminate the concern for spies. There's actually a crazy low level of espionage going on in that series.
I could maybe start to buy that if purple-haired lady and Leia didn't then have a convo about how awesome Poe is. Again, just terrible writing.
And btw, I think they had that convo cos they may have been too worried that the snowflake fan they cultivate would not see in Poe in good terms otherwise. I took notice of that at the time; it was very coerced dialogue.
They can think the world of Poe and still know that a) he doesn't need to know and b) the information could be intercepted if they told the general population. Everything about Poe is bad writing, so I don't disagree with you. Homie should be a name on a memorial wall at this point. But we have to keep seeing him up on the screen instead.
The point is Disney is riding their cotails from the past success of lucas. My point is sjws can't create nothing of their own. The original star wars were Oscar worthy. These new starswars are on par with avengers, avatar, transformers, etc. Shirty pop corn flicks that kids like.
There's rumors that Disney could of gone and done star wars movies based on the expanded universe books and comics, and the video games like kotor, but mostly if not all the protagonists are male. We can't have that in today's atized society. They have to be a 90 lbs girl that could beat up everybody without ever training.
Jewlywood has gone to trash! They used to make good films. Now all the good films are done by independent and foreign companies.
This guy sounds like he has a full set of teeth.
There's a reason coco is considered the best movie of 2017 and might win an Oscar. There's no subliminal messages in it, no sjw get politics in it. It's just a coming of age animation story that celebrates Mexican indigenous culture, the family, loosing your parents/loved ones. It's rare to see films like that nowadays.
you're really upset a female can have superpowers in films.
Snowflake.
Did you watch the movie?
Uh....Coco is a Disney flick
beat me to it
Old snowflake isn’t a fan of new Star Wars movies?what a shock.
where muh Star Wars gone?

Darrins one gripe about this movie is the fact that there is a young black man as a main character in these movies.
30 years later he still cant get over getting ed up by a pack of black guys.![]()
I told a buddy the same thing. Said it can start with Rey waking up from "a nightmare" on Ahchto in one of the little huts. It could be just a force dream of a possible future. Then she walks into Luke's room where he's just sitting there hunch over holding and staring at the light Saber in deep thought. But time has passed since she arrived and Luke has been training for awhile.
JJs got a mess to fix. Don't envy the dude right now.
Add a smoke monster and put a polar bear on Tattoine, imo
You sure JJ isn’t the one who made the mess in the first place? A long string of mystery boxes isn’t a story.
What's there to fix? Johnson just kept JJ from remaking Episode VI so he'll actually have to do some writing for a change. Nobody can retcon Rey into less of a Mary Sue which is the biggest problem this trilogy has. Only thing to do with the old principals is to decide how Leia dies offscreen and how long Luke's force ghost beard will be. Turn Kylo or kill him; have the rebels destroy the First Order in some unlikely way. Not too difficult.
I'm smelling X-Men Last Stand type stuff. Ren asks Rey to kill him or something stupid like that.
Lost fans thought it was
