Well, even his seasoned MVP peer chose him in the Allstar draft. So take it for what its worth.
He may not be top 5 yet, but he is top 10.

last year they lost games 5 and 6 to Toronto in games where he shot 12-18 for 30 points, and 13-23 for 34 points. his scoring ability was never the problem, so its re ed to point to his jump shooting ability is such a big factor for their team success. he shot 53.6% from the field in that whole series and even hit 40% of his threes
he had been named to 4 straight all-nba first teams, won 4 straight scoring les, been named DPOY, and had won a league mvp in the seasons preceding his first chip. so, i mean, yeah, he was already considered one of the greatsNobody was proclaiming Jordan to be a top 5 player in the World when he was losing on the first round, tbh.
the hatred in Giannis is absolutely meaningless, I could understand if it was about the coward Durant who destroyed the balance of the league for at least 4 seasons, but that Greek is just amazing to watch
to be fair, really, how many people actually consider all-nba first team, scoring champion, DPOY, MVP players to be top 5?
Sneakely trying to change the conversation from "getting past the first round" to "winning your first championship".
Well son, when Giannis does all the things you listed there that MJ did, we can start calling him a top 5 player. You happy?
So now saying that Giannis isn't top 5 = hating the guy?
"How can you not consider the player I like a top 5 player? You're such a hater
"
that's a ridiculous standard... if giannis doesn't match jordan's accomplishments, he can't be a top 5 player in today's nba
because you just dismiss everything about him because "he cant make a jump shot"
Again, being purposely dishonest because he can't win an argument. Sad, tbh.![]()
I didn't dismiss anything. I just said that until he shows me more I can't place him over guys like Lebron, Durant, Kawhi, Curry, Harden, Westbrook and some others. So, no in the top 5.
BTW, where do you rank Giannis, or are you arguing for the sake of arguing?
i have in comfortably in the top 10. i dont have him above lebron, kawhi, curry, durant. i think he's right there in the next tier with harden/westbrook, so somewhere between 5-7
Seriously sons, is such a crime to wait for the kid to start winning with some kind of consistency before proclaiming him the greatest thing since sliced bread?![]()
Then what the are you arguing?![]()
No, but he can start by at least getting one of those, tbh.
that your "he cant hit a jumpshot so i cant take him seriously" take is re ed
I don't think I have said that, but anyways I have spent the last 10 to 15 posts on this thread making my point clear yet you continue to argue something you agree with.![]()
Top 5 best Players right now. "I'm Starting a Team" Players:
Top 4 no order, Kawhi, Lebron, Durant, Steph.
Then we got 2 other MVP caliber players Russ and Harden.
I don't see Giannis in the top 5.
I take that back. My top 6 can all lead a team.
Frauden hasn't led . Morey would trade him for Giannis right now if he could.
Been in the top 3 conversation 3 years running. I still got to give him the nod over someone who hasn't don't jack.![]()
All I know? When I saw him play the Spurs he looked on a whole nother level than anyone else on the floor. Even my wife said that guy is doing everything during that game. He plays that way regularly. I have him above Harden personally. Harden plays no D. Giannis will block your shot into the 3rd row.
Look, he's a top 10 player, but he's definitely not top 5 yet. Doesn't mean he won't be, or won't be soon, but I wouldn't take him if I could choose 5 players to take into the playoffs with me this season, he wouldn't be on my list. There's easily 5 players I'd take ahead of him, maybe more. He'd probably be in the 7-10 range for me.
