Exact- ing-ly
You do realize the riff is probably mostly media conjecture b/c they want Kawhi in a big market, right? Andat Manu/Parker interfering with Kawhi coming back.
Lol I remember that. Smh.
That was one of the strangest things I've ever seen.
We were minus 2 when I posted that.
Pop and RC resign.....Manu takes over as GM
Bring back Budd
I want to talk some more about KD. I think if the Spurs were fully healthy with Kawhi playing and Curry not there to drawing attention away from KD, that would have kind of leveled the playing field a little bit and allowed a head to head matchup between KD and Kawhi. I think a healthy Kawhi would have absolutely wrecked KD in that mathcup without Curry being there to draw attention and bail him out.
How are you so sure of that?
Doubt that
Maybe cause Kawhi isn't a free agent?
Not even that. I felt at the time when Tim was an FA that he was a once in a lifetime player up there with Magic,Bird. I thought at the time it was guaranteed the Spurs were going to win at least a few more championships with him if he resigned but if he didn't it would have been devastating up there with the Magic losing Shaq. Kawhi on the other hand has made strides and has become a superstar but I don't view him as a once in generation player like Duncan. If the spurs lose him it will hurt them but I won't shed any tears about it.
Plus I got to see the Spurs win all 5 championships. That will last me a lifetime granted I hope they aren't out of le contention forever but if they never win it all again it's not going to be the end of the world for me. I'm just fed up with the drama Kawhi and his group have brought the Spurs. I'm ready for it to end either way by him leaving or staying.
Kawhi was never a great offensive player when he was in hschool or college. I remember reading an article a few years ago I think that stated he had never scored more than 20 points once in hschool. He also had broken jump shot that limited his offensive capabilities. The Spurs helped him by fixing his broken shot with Chip England correcting it. Seems like a little thing but not many organizations could have helped Kawhi fix his broken shot like the Spurs did. Look at the Hornets they have been unable to fix Kidd-Gilchrists jumps shot and same with the Heat with Winslow. Both are relegated to being defensive stoppers.
Also the Spurs worked with Kawhi on developing his offensive game. I remember reading how Pop and the coaching staff would have him watch videos of Pippen and Barkley and then have him practice some of the moves in the videos they made him watch with the developmental coaches. They would put him in situations in games so he could practice the offensive moves and techniques that they had gone over with him. Not many coaching staffs would have done these things for a player that was not a good offensive player coming out of college.
Kawhi deserves credit for his great work ethic and doing what the Spurs told him to do to get better but the Spurs also deserve credit for having the vision of the type of player he could become and then giving him the opportunity. Most other teams would not have tried to develop a player who was not known for scoring coming out of college. Reputations are hard to shake in this league when you are coming out of college. Most organizations would have just seen Kawhi as a great defensive player and nothing else. Coaches can make or break unproven talent. I remember hearing an interview a few years ago with Matt Barnes in which he stated that he actually tried to improve his shooting when he was originally with the Sixers. According to Barnes one day while he was practicing his shooting his coach at the time Maurice Cheeks came up to him and said "I don't know why you are wasting your time trying to learn how to shoot. I'm not going to allow you to shoot during the games anyways."
He has never been a winning player for his career. Things like that are why.
this disrespect this guy gets, is it just SA? pop? still can't believe this happened
they didn't ask our star player a single question
Pop? Not really. He praised him all season.
I get if Oakland media didn't ask him something, after all they have stronger stories on their own team. But most SA media guys were in Oakland, how they didn't ask him a single answer? So disrespectful.
I stopped following Jeff McDonald on Tw so I don't know if he gave a reason for this weird thing...
Weird part is there is so many questions they could of asked.
Like, you & Manu jus dissected the warriors to almost pull out the improbable win. You want him back next season?
Apparently guys from SA were doing interviews in the locker room, so it was just the Oakland and national TV guys there
It makes sense now. Thanks!![]()
It is fairly obvious you are unable to process context. Find somewhere else to be angry.
I was trolling homie (sarcasm), next time I will do blue text to make it obvious for the simpletons![]()
