They did the same with Timmy iirc, and Tony's brothers to a lesser extent. , they brought on some of their friends around the league (albeit they were legitimate impact players/personnel).
same with Manu and some of his tier Argie teammates

Sorry, you don't get to sit out a season and make demands. At least you shouldn't get to. If he sat out for bargaining power, I think he might have lost it. We'll see.

If I was going to sign him, he'd have to agree to a pay cut if he ditched the team doctors and went on his own for more than a couple weeks. I don't get the "status" thing. He's got a finals MVP like AI and a couple DPOY awards like Marcus Camby. What ing status? He's not Durant level, and he the entire season away. That really took a hot wet piss on his status.

He'll get paid, but he won't ever have the status he thinks he should, if he indeed thinks that. It's like someone demanding you call them by a manufactured nickname. Odds are, just by demanding it, you're going to avoid calling them that.

If he's really using that angle, I hope he gets traded.

I believe it, I believe Kawhi wanted Dedmon over Pau. Wouldn't you? Especially Kawhi, who burned himself last year playing Defense and Offense not being able to take a break on D like Harden and others. Pau offers zero perimeter defense, with Dedmon leving Kawhi has to work that much harder.

Imagine; DJ, Kawhi, Rudy, LA, and Dedmon. Damn, that would have been an unbelievable team.

LA is still around to defend the paint.

It’s all those useless midgets around the perimeter that makes Kawhi’s life harder on D.

The NBA is one ed up workplace. Imagine 12 players and their “groups” all fighting to control things. What a zoo.

I would respectfully disagree, i believe this is what exactly the late great Erin P. fought for, and turned it into a culture. It was a key factor on why Timmy D. decided to stay, bringing his family on the trips & on team flights.
False equivalence. Occasionally having family on team flights =/= infesting the organization and roster with your hangers on.

The elephant in the room is still whether he can play a whole season healthy again. Players who miss entire seasons from nagging injuries that don't require surgery but never seem to heal, are often done.

Another thing to consider with Leonard is that his game requires elite athleticism to be effective. Tim Duncan could play great with a bad knee because of his style of play. But if Leonard comes back at 80-90% athleticism he will not be a max-type player.

Absolutely. . I feel like the media keeps making up stuff but his lack of health is the elephant in the room.

I can't believe LMA went on the record with those comments! I don't think he and Leanord can coexist now.
    It’s david Aldridge not LMA

We’re relying on David Aldridge’s “sense”? Really? A guess which isn’t even educated? From a so-called “analyst” whose success rate predicting free agent destinations and game outcomes is wonky at best? A mere sports writer whose connections or sources aren’t well-do ented? A guy who never played and never worked for an NBA front office? This is what the NBA community takes for rumors and blows up into a narrative. I don’t wonder how many people get faked thinking certain players sign with the teams the media hope for them to sign with.

Wrong read by Aldridge imo. It’s not Kawhi’s personality to demand leeway. He does not want to be the face of the franchise, just wants to play hard per his mom. Fire your uncle Kawhi. He is misrepresenting you.

Sounds like they are backing off...sounds like they have no idea how to manage this chap and they are mis leading him into a path of disaster.
How delusional thinking the can run a franchise the way they want. Bizarre.
Sounds like other stupid article about Spurs-Kawhi offseason saga.

It's funny how these guys are reporting based on many different rumors...No one rumor/article says the same that other, no one is similar to other...They're desperate to have a story.

To me this is the only way you can have sustained success like the Spurs have had for almost 2 decades. The Spurs are a tried and true system. I would see they might try to accommodate some of that but I'm pretty sure he isn't going to become the new Iverson at San Antonio
when you have a superstar and top 5 all-time, or a top 3 in the current league, yes. try to do without any of that and you maybe make the playoffs

Defending the paint is not the issue, I agree. Pau is one of the best at that. But like you said it's those midgets that can't defend the perimeter. Dedmon, does that pretty good. Actually DJ, Kawhi, and Dedmon are some of the best at it and if two of them can shoot the three. Instead of the one we had this year, Pop won't be forced to play those midgets to add a much needed 3 point shooting.

In the last week he wants easier practices and buddies to hang with?
How about he actually guarantees us something. Like in an upcoming season that he was predicted by many to be the league MVP, he actually you know plays basketball.

This is all fake news. WWE, All My Children, Jersey Shore level fabricated soap opera. Leonard has a degenerative disease of his tendon and the Spurs are trying to figure out their best course of action considering their transcendent superstar is done.
