I could see it happening if he fires Mueller, since that would madly drive Democratic turnout in the midterms. The GOP has to defend the fat piece of in public right now, but after primaries are over and they won't be dealing with Trump challengers from the right they could decide they're better off taking a little wind out of the sails of the Democrats leading up to the midterms while also getting the conservative they really want in the oval office. I could see congress worried Trump would work with the Democrats as long as he gets to put his name on and claim credit. Trump couldn't give two s about Mitch McConnell and his agenda. It would be a gamble for the midterms but we have seen most GOP voters will swallow anything the party throws at them and the hardcore Trumpers probably weren't going to show up to vote on a ballot without him on it anyways. If he fires Mueller it would be incredibly idiotic, so he'll probably do it.

The funniest thing about their new current hope is that they think Trump will be impeached over a campaign finance law violation, but the FEC wouldn't even rule on it until well after the next election

I don't think he'd be impeached over any of this Stormy Daniels stuff unless it's obstruction -- but I don't think the FEC handles criminal cases tbh. I could be wrong.
