I don't get PG13 staying in OKC for a 2-3 year deal. The whole point of staying in OKC would be to get that fifth year. A 3 year Bird max deal in OKC pays him $99 million while a 3 year non Bird max deal in LA pays him just under $96 million.
At 30, when the deal would supposedly end, given the annual increases, he could get up to $40M per for one final contract. That's his calculation from what I'm reading.

Because he wouldn't be able to get that deal in LA I think. OKC can give it to him since he was traded. Same reason CP3 had to be traded to get it in Houston I thought.
As baseline bum noted, the difference in max raises over a three year deal is almost nothing. And a two year deal is a few million bucks.

I get the joke but I expect a 4 year, $28 million deal for Anderson, which is actually a really good deal.
    I'd be absolutely floored. I wasn't joking.

OKC could give him 8% raises while LA could only give him 4.5%. It's the difference between signing a $99 million contract in OKC vs a $96 million one in LA over those three years.

Please god don’t sign Kyle to a 4-yr deal... I’m confident we’ll retain him, but I hope it’s for 3 years at most. A team option on the 3rd year would be beautiful, although doubtful.

Makes sense. If he did the 2+1 in LA and opted out the Lakers would only have Early Bird and not Full Bird rights. Early Bird would still allow them to make offer a max base year salary but the contract could only be for four years instead of five like with Full Bird. I can't remember if the raises are 4.5% with Early Bird; I think they are.

You pay a premium price for all that corporate knowledge inside that bulbous cranium. They will sign Fathead and you will like it.

If Lakers film the remaining space with someone like Cousins seems that would gives Spurs a while lot of leverage on a trade with Leonard to Boston or Philly.
Or maybe the Spurs lock Leonard up and you get on your knees like the got you are.

Right, as it relates to LAL having cap space, this is entirely relevant as once Lebron comes to town it disappears and goes to all of his friends.

Loyalty contracts all around to further expedite the franchise's move to Seattle.
Yeah, they can share the stadium with all the homeless people.

So we all know that by 11:30 Twitter will go crazy with deals for every team but the Spurs and Kawhi will still not have been traded.

The Spurs will probably move Kawhi to a team that has not even been discussed.

He will be re-signed. Fathead certainly has his flaws, but he’s a heady player (pun intended) at a position of need for us who can be retained at a (hopefully) reasonable price. With Kawhi gone, depending on who we get in return, Kyle’s going to play a lot of minutes for us this year, me thinks. Just hope he makes a jump.

I like Kyle Anderson, a very smart player. But if Will Barton's contract is any indication, then it probably won't be cheap to keep KA.

If he could just shoot, though. Man...that just kills us.

And I was one of his biggest defenders, but he got exposed this year without Kawhitter being on the floor with him.
