The 9th Doctor? This is turning into a season of Dr. Who.

Anyone can doctor shop to get any outcome they want, Jabari.
Wow he does sound like Jabari. I hope Uncle Dennis pays him extra, this is superb work.

If Kawhi is traded to say Charlotte just as an example, and decides to bolt after next season to sign with any of the two L.A teams, how much money would he lose as opposed to what he could make from the max if offered from the Spurs?

please, you can not defend this rat and his group, it's not about wanting to go play different team, it's about it disappearing when he had two years left on his contract, he has faked an injury to disappear

At this point it is stupid to defend someone who does not do their job when they are being paid and their own teammates believe that he is faking an injury

the rat and his group destroyed any possibility of trade.... making public that wanted to go to the fakers, since then SA has no chance to get good players

so the rat, uncle dennis force him to show up if is not suspend him

We are not signing any Multi-year deals, homey.
Especially not with Randle's agent who just disrespected Magic.
No hard feelings on him staying in OKC but not giving magic a meeting was disresopectful but KCP at one year 12 is much better than paying PG teh max for 4.
Let Randle play out the QO on a year deal and we will send him to another team at deadline if he i still unhappy.
Magic taking a superstar for granted and not offering up a good trade to get him was the disrespectful part. LA has been really bad; bad ownership, bad in free agency and at best medicore in drafting. When a star says he wants to come there, you don’t take him for granted and let him die on the vine. You make an offer and bring him into the fold.

There is zero chance Randle plays our the QO. He will get offered a deal from another team and LA will have to decide on keeping him and eating up cap space next year or letting him walk for nothing.

My hope is they see this and do Ingram/Randle for Kawhi.

I wonder why you still talk in present or future. There is no future between Kawhi and the Spurs. It's too late for that.
Because he is still under contract with the Spurs and if not traded he still has to be a part of the Spurs organization.

Spurs ponied up and gave Kawhi his MAX. Of course, he then only played, and looks to only play two seasons of the five, four if you count the option.
If you say the Spurs will max DJ...I have to assume they will, which is great. I would hate to see the Spurs losing their own guys season after season.

There’s some Bryan Colangelo voodoo going on here I love it. Jabari, find a new slant, please!

Do you think writers from Pounding The Rock and Project Spurs constantly loiter here as well? And what is up with Mike Finger?

Why aren't we looking at a trade with the Hornets? Kemba/Monk/(MKG or Frank)? He would be under Jordan for his branding. That would be much more appealing to me than the Lakers/Philly trade. Let Jordan convince him to stay for a shoe deal.

$80M. But he would play at home on a superteam in a bigger market with better endorsements. It's not like it sucks at all...

It's sad that MJ isn't that naive to think that Kawhi would stay and offer Kemba for him.

The Spurs from a basketball standpoint are screwed, and their era of contention dating all the way back to 1989 is over. There is no outcome that can prevent the end.

What Kawhi is doing goes beyond basketball. If allowed to get away with it, it has huge repercussions on both the ownership and players and could herald the end of guaranteed contracts in the NBA.

    Do not trade him. Anywhere.

They should keep their mouths shut, expect him to report to training camp, and see just how dumb and self-destructive he and his team are.

Been giving PATFO a lot of lately but kudos to them for not breaking and selling Kawhi for some package so far (*knock on wood*). Being patient is the key here. If the Lakers are giving the Spurs a deadline to make a deal for Kawhi deal then them. Don’t fold. Let him show up to Training camp and go from there. Let LA waste a year of Lebron’s prime.

Right. Somehow thousands of players have managed to honor long term contracts, even if they didn't want to be with the team they were on over the last couple of decades.

Kawhi’s agent is an agent for football players. Holding out is a football thing. Unfortunately, the guy doesn’t represent any other NBA players, so he doesn’t have to worry about the damage he’s doing to the Spurs.

Yeah, i've brought it up before but pushing this along can have some serious ramifications on the CBA. Even when Vince Carter quit, he played out his contract and was just overall ty on the floor. Plus he wanted out because the front office wasn't committed to winning. Kawhi's group does not have the luxury of that spin.

I highly doubt that RC/Pop would let it get to that point but maybe ownership steps in and tells them to hold their ground. What's to stop a future Spurs player or any other NBA player from pulling this again?

Basically he was saying if there is time left on a contract Pop would make a player play. He hasn’t heard anything from Kawhi actually saying he wanted out. They won’t be bullied into doing a trade. If Kawhi sits out again his rep will be tarnished further, he thinks Philly would be best for him. If there is a good enough trade on the table they would do it, he doesn’t see Pop ever trading him to the Lakers and have to play against him.
