I live a few hours away in Myrtle Beach I might have to drive down for a game or two. I'll say this though, I've never heard that he's super friendly or outgoing towards fans. Although that's just what I've heard through the years, he's one of the guys I've never met personally.

It's kind of strange. Coach Pop is very friendly in person (I'm sure as long as you don't annoy him anyways) and that seems to be the whole culture with the team, it's surprising that one of the big 3 is like that with fans. Most of the players I've met (Sean Elliott, Manu, LMA, Patty) were all friendly albeit short. Borrego seemed like a really cool guy, Pop was outgoing. Never met Duncan but I was training BJJ at Pete Spratt's gym on 1604 one time and he came in and said hi to Pete apparently Duncan's a big MMA fan and friends with Pete Spratt. Didn't get to meet him but he seemed to have the same Duncan demeanor you would expect. And of course David Robinson is far and beyond the friendliest of any athlete I've ever met.

Pop is great but you are right that he doesn't suffer fools lightly. But if you have something to say and can back it up, he'll chat with you all day. Sean, David, Elie, Kersey, Kerr, Malik and Duncan were all pussycats and totally open to bs-ing with fans. Danny Ferry is one en led asshole though, haha. that guy sideways...

I think Parkers demeanor is part of the French way. Very elitist and can't really be bothered to "waste" time talking to fans unless they're hot chicks. Very French way of being...

Happy we've moved on because Tony has regressed so much these past 2 years and we needed to move on. That said, he'll go down as the most underrated PG of his generation, and I'll always remember him the most for OWNING Chris Paul and Steve Nash in the playoffs despite them receiving all the attention, both in those series and throughout their careers.

And I'll be rooting like for him on the Hornets to get them to the playoffs next year and make some noise. And the Spurs need to retire his jersey when the Hornets visit us next year.

Tony and my husband lived in the same condo building early in Tony's career (when LJ and I were engaged ). That was when I first moved to SA. So we ran into him a lot. At the building, at restaurants, etc. He was always cool.

I became friendly with his dad, and his dad ended up deciding to play on LJs rec basketball team one summer. It's hilarious that his dad has Tony's same moves on the court.

Anyway, I know it's a SpursTalk tradition to trash Tony, but he's a good guy...and he's a Spurs legend. I know he wanted more playing time, and now he'll get it. But it's sad that he's not retiring a Spur.

Yup, pretty much how I feel. Tony leaving was much needed and long overdue, doesn't mean he didn't have some great times with the Spurs. He'll get taken care of once he hangs 'em up.

Tony Parker one of the most underappreciated Spurs. He was great for this organization. Wish him nothing but the best. That injury was unfortunate, but he fought through it and surprisingly made it back and was as good as one wished he might be. Yeah he regressed, but he was always there to play. Nothing but respect for the guy.

His comments regarding Kawhi's injury was not the final nail on the coffin regarding Kawhi not wanting to comeback. Kawhi has issues. Plain and simple.
