I live a few hours away in Myrtle Beach I might have to drive down for a game or two. I'll say this though, I've never heard that he's super friendly or outgoing towards fans. Although that's just what I've heard through the years, he's one of the guys I've never met personally.
Disagree completely. Tony (along with Manu and Dirk) were some of my fav players to talk to. Tony was always super friendly to us off the court too. Tony and my husband lived in the same condo building early in Tony's career (when LJ and I were engaged ). That was when I first moved to SA. So we ran into him a lot. At the building, at restaurants, etc. He was always cool.

I became friendly with his dad, and his dad ended up deciding to play on LJs rec basketball team one summer. It's hilarious that his dad has Tony's same moves on the court.

Anyway, I know it's a SpursTalk tradition to trash Tony, but he's a good guy...and he's a Spurs legend. I know he wanted more playing time, and now he'll get it. But it's sad that he's not retiring a Spur.
I'm glad your experience was different than mine, I met him mid career so perhaps he was a little more jaded or maybe it was the surroundings, idk. I've heard that his dad was super nice though I never met him, funny to hear that he has the same moves but it makes perfect sense.

Also, in no way am I dogging his impact on the Spurs or saying that he wasn't a core reason for our success for many years. It's a shame that time caught up with him and slowed his jets but his jersey should hang from the rafters and rightfully so.

Truly sad to see him not retire a Spur but glad that he'll go out being a contributor and not just a mentor.

As an aside, if/when a Leonard trade occurs, this probably makes it more likely Mills is retained. Whether Ginobili postpones retirement or not or Green is traded or not, they're more than likely down to their final season as Spurs and they'll want a veteran mentor for Murray (Fultz?), White and Walker.

If retaining Mills is the difference between getting a quality 3rd asset or not (like the '21 Heat 1st), that's fine. His contract and physical limitations were more so prohibitive for a team with championship aspirations than in general.

I have heard he tends to be friendly towards females. I remember many years ago a Laker fan by the name of misty something who was mainly a Horry fan talking about her interactions with Parker. She stated every time he saw her that he was very nice and cordial. I have heard the same from other female fans who have interacted with Parker.

Great player. Hope he regains some of the speed after a year of coming back from his injury. Sorry he went to another team after his wonderful career here, but he legitimately has the will to prove himself again...and that's a good sign and tells you the main important thing : he really wants to play and he consider himself still able to contribute in a main role.
    Have a good year, Tony!

just watch the spurs trade kawhi and gasol for kemba, gilchrist, and tony

tbh, i wouldn't be surprised if the hornets trade tony next year, he agrees to a buyout, and then resigns with the spurs.

Probably the best thing for everyone. We were lucky to have a hall of fame, champion point guard for as long as we did. I wish him nothing but continued success.

Thanks for everything, TP! Now, instead of ing our wives, he'll get to the whole team in games, tbh.

Im sad to see him go, but it was the right time. He was one of the greatest Spurs of all-time and one of my favorite players. Happy he got one more pay day before he hangs it up. I'll be watching more Hornets games this year than I ever have.

The Spurs let 36-year-old Avery Johnson walk two years removed from a championship. This is just history repeating itself.

I hope Tony told Pop over the past few days that he was looking around, and did not surprise Pop today.

Met the guy once, wasn't impressed. Took my teenage son to tux and tennies. He walked in 2 minutes before the videostarted. Asked him to pose for a picture with my son. He said he would after. He told every person the same while walking to his seat. With about 5 minutes left in the video he snuck out of the room with his girl.
