Lance Stevenson got like 9 mill on 1 year this is pretty good value for KA. Takes up like 1/13th of the payroll.

Edit: nm.lance on a 1 yr 4.5. But still. Not outrageous and we are limited.
i'd gladly pay anderson 1/9. that's not the issue. its the 4 year commitment that is ty and not worthwhile imo

Actually it all depends what we get back for Kawhi. Of it's a good sf/pf then KA is gone. Good for him.
Then they have 48 hours to figure this out.

If the Spurs don't match then how much money do the Spurs have to spend on free agents?

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a Spurs player be so underappreciated. It's crazy how many people truly believe that he's some sort of scrub.

The fact that he managed to get that offer sheet, in a market year that has been stingy as speaks volumes about how badly some of you are underselling his game.

its not too long in that i think he'll decline.

i just think its too long a commitment to a mediocre player to play a significant role.

If the Spurs trade Kawhi to the Celtics they may get Morris. This might be Kyle's replacement

none they are already hard capped. it makes sense to just match cause you can't get another player with cap...

    Adrian WojnarowskiESPN
Restricted free-agent forward Kyle Anderson has signed a four-year, $37.2 million offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources told ESPN.

The San Antonio Spurs have 48 hours to match the offer, which includes a 15 percent trade kicker, league sources said. The Grizzlies used their full midlevel exception on the offer.

Anderson, 24, was a primary target of the Grizzlies, who've been determined to upgrade the small forward position. Anderson has had an outstanding plus-minus on defense the past two years.

The Grizzlies consider the offer sheet to Anderson an investment into the franchise's stated goal of recapturing the Grit-and-Grind culture under new coach JB Bickerstaff.
Anderson averaged 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per game for the Spurs last season. He is expected to shoulder a larger role, especially if Kawhi Leonard is traded this offseason. The Spurs have been positive about retaining him.
The Spurs drafted Anderson with the 30th pick in the 2014 NBA draft, after he left UCLA following his freshman season.

i would agree with you if it wasnt from the team that gave Chandler Parson 94 million to sit on the bench

About 99% sure they will match. It's common sense to me. They are hard capped and have about 20 something mill to go over to sign their players and use BAE and the rest of the MLE. Kyle is more valuable than Bertans and can play both forward positions. If Kyle takes the 8.5 mill per they will have around 12 mill more for the BAE and the rest of the MLE. When those two exceptions are used they'll have about 6 mill for Bertans etc. I know y'all don't like Kyle but it's not a bad deal for what he can do.
    What can he do?

Are we sure it wasn't Bertans who signed that offer sheet?

The dude is perfect for the modern NBA. And his 3 pt % been getting better every year. He'll figure it out sooner or later. People forget how effective he was in the pnr early in the year.... dunno why we went away from that.

Lol. Good point. I like to think they have a good amount figured out about Kawhi now that Mike C. Wright appeared to get the go ahead from PATFO but who knows how that really went down.

maybe, but that says more about how much the San Antonio development system is respected in the league
