I mean, I am a big smart fan. He’s like a better version of Kyle Anderson but as a guard. If SA didn’t have Mills I would much rather pay Smart 16M than Mills 12M. But I just dont see how outside of a Kawhi trade opening up cap space how that would be an option.

I thought he was being bought out of his contract...
I'm sure the bulls would be buying him out but, if okc can trade him and let someone else buy him out it saves them alot on money in taxes. It also gives them more cap space in the coming years because they won't have the stretch provision on their books.

Asked around about Milwaukee Bucks RFA Jabari Parker too. One team exec that is not in the bidding for Parker said “Maybe Atlanta or Sacramento can get involved, but I don’t think they will. He may be one of the biggest losers of the summer for expected vs actual contract.”
Bucks just signed Brook Lopez for $3.4 M. Wasn't this guy compared to Duncan like 5 years ago? We could've picked him up for more than that I believe.
Not for more money. Spurs had the BAE like the bucks, and less than that left from the mle.
Maybe Spurs could offer the second year but Lopez might have turned that down with bucks to get back on the market
Nikola is better then Lopez at this point more upside and younger.
