1. No one likes Lonzo. The only way anyone trades for him is if his father stays in LA.
2. So there’s a reason to flip a deal. If the Lakers had that much faith in their young players it doesn’t make sense to deal for Leonard this year. The Spurs aren’t giving up a Finals MVP and a 2x DPOY for players who will be mediocre at best. There’s no deal now, but it doesn’t mean there isn’t one later on.
3. It’s not insane for George to stay in OKC. Only a homer would think that. The Lakers have accomplished nothing in the last five years, even with high draft picks.

Regardless, the Lakers have allegedly moved on. If and when they strike a deal, all of this is just bluffing on the Lakers end. What’s fair to both fan bases are relatively and largely different concepts, but if the Spurs’ front office doesn’t think it’s good enough then it probably isn’t. I won’t take a Laker fan’s word for it especially with the bias and that tire fire of a roster the rest of them keep defending.

2 - Next summer, they will have $50 million in capspace, with the ability to get that to almost $70 million by moving Deng as an expiring
3 - Kawhi, Klay, Jimmy Butler & several others will free agents next summer - who knows, Boogie may actually come back 100& and GSW would have to choose between him, Klay & Durant . . . someone the Lakers want will take max money to play with LeBron
4 - The " ty, unknown" players that the Spurs fans are pooh-poohing may (gasp) actually get better! Imagine LeBron, a 21 year old Ingram, 21 year old Ball, 23 year old Kuzma and 23 year old Hart and 2 max salary slots open?

I signed up with this message board in hopes to find some Spurs "insiders". I create media content for sports sponsorships and one of our clients we work with is ESPN San Antonio. I get to hear some interesting things regarding the Spurs when I meet with their people. I'm meeting with some reps this Wednesday and am sure to get an update on Kawhi's status and potential suitors.

But by the sounds of it and the type of people that are on this message board, I think this may not be the place to share such information.

What is so wrong with the Clippers' assets? If we lose Kawhi I'd love to get back someone who can create their own shot (Tobias) and I think he'd love a long contract given all the uncertainty he's already faced in his career. Manu, Green, and Marco will all be going away real soon and SGA looks like he could be really good, great wingspan. Affordable rookie deal, too. Harrell would be a great defender too although he's a shooting liability. Again, great wingspan. Not sure how including him (he's a RFA) would work in a S&T for Kawhi along with the other two guys. Maybe instead he could just be in a separate wink wink S&T for just Mills and then Beverly is included along with Tobias and SGA for Kawhi.

I think this could work well-we'd run far less risk of creating a superteam and the Clippers I think would have more of a reassurance (than Philly) he will re-sign so they would give more. And by not creating a superteam if we get back say their 2021 and 2023 first round picks, then those picks will probably be a lot better.

NBA can get a 3rd party doctor to say decide if he's healthy & from there the ball in the Spurs court - he can't become a free agent until they let him if he sits out. I can't see how it does the Spurs that much damage though, even though most people are on the player's side generally, more people are realising he's tanked it & sat out while healthy in the middle of a contract to get to a bigger market for a shoedeal. He sees others making 10s of millions annually from them, while Dennis doesn't realise a big market isn't going to make him talk more or become marketable & he'll end up losing from this
