No. The Spurs LET him do that last year to keep the peace and try to mend things. It’s war now. The Spurs can get a league eval, and if he’s cleared, he has to play, or lose game checks. If he sits more than 30days, he loses FA next summer, and has to play under this year’s contract. He does have the option to retire, but he gets no money this year, and will have no options for Bird rights. The most he could sign for would be 4/139.
