Doubt they can get by the Dubs. Maybe with some injuries.
Warriors have to deal with Klay and Dray next season...I guess they will reject extensions this offseason if they don't get BIG money.

I guess this next regular season is the last year of the dominat GSW we know..

Also, this is why I said neither Spurs-Kawhi's camp read this correctly. Offering the sumpermax to Kawhi could have been a big gamble but both sides could win it all in this league next seasons without this super-Warriors on the map.

Maybe the Spurs sign Zaza and watch as he takes out Kawhi the next time the Spurs face him...

Dubs are going to lose one of KD, Klay, or Draymond next summer. They can't afford all 3. If/when the warriors win it all again next year, I could see some of those guys wanting a different challenge. That team could look a whole lot different after next summer.

Best case scenario he sits out, loses his entire year's salary, s over player-centric contracts for next generation, signs a max contract with Lakersthen gets into a car wreck that screws up his knee and he can never play again.
this is the brightest timeline tbqh

Toronto knows exactly what they're doing. They'll have tons of cap space next year to go after free agents while the Spurs will be in tax . This was a pure salary dump by the Raptors. They wanted to get of DeRozen and they got one year of Kawhi as a gift.
    Really?

Some of the new greys might buy it but 0/10 otherwise.

Is Sporting News the only one reporting Kawhi plans to it out?

Don't kid yourself. Pau is going to see every dime that he's owed and then he'll be re-signed. keep living the dream though.

And Spurs would STILL have more cap space than Toronto next summer.

    Probably, yeah.

He has a degenerative leg disease and missed a full season of his prime. Not a good place to be.

I think it will be like Derrick Rose, a few moments where you think he might be back but mostly filled with injures and lost potential

this tbh. get one of his doctors to say his quad bone is acting up and he can sit out without violating cba. toronto will cave and accept Deng+Hart+Lavarson by the trade deadline
The CBA has a provision for that. The team can request an independent medical examiner. One that the Raptors approve. If Kawhi's group doesn't approve someone acceptable to the Raptors then the League will chose the ME. If the ME says he can play then if Kawhi misses more than 30 days than he loses his free agency at the end of the year.

The league - especially Vlade - need to stand pat and make the Lakers eat that Deng contract or stretch him next offseason. Make them have to lose even more young pieces if they do in fact want to pair 60 game a year Kawhi with 35 year old Lebron.

You must be under the assumption that Valenciunas is a lock to opt in and Green and Leonard will re-sign.

Kawhi can't just sit because he's pouting.. He won't be able to opt out the following year according to CBA rules if he withholds services. His uncle is going to end up costing this clown even more money. Does his camp really wanna get into a legal battle in arbitration over being a little ?
