Could be, makes sense. Could also be spurs wanted a legit star/difference maker as part of the deal. Potential & upside wasn't good enough which would of been the case with Fultz. Another angle by keeping the demands high, Kawhi wouldn't get one of his preferances. It was reported he would consider the sixers maybe longterm aside from LA.
I've also heard that Uncle Dennis has his business set up in New Jersey. Philly borders Jersey nicely. No wonder Kawhi would be agreeable to the Sixers.

So these organizations are doing these players wrong somehow? What’s going on here? It’s unreal how out of touch these idiots are. Most people can’t sit out a year at work and then force there way into another department or company. That’s not real world . People always talking about keeping 100 but then are ing about getting paid millions but being critizced for calling out someone’s bull .

“You probably were never in a position to sign a contract worth 200 million”

Well neither was Kawhi since it wasn’t offered, sooo.....

Also he says “then you wonder why your organization is sorry”. Spurs are the most successful organization around lol.

Is Jabari actively emulating Kawhi? He's just taking potshots at the Spurs now, albeit in a passive-aggressive way by retweeting someone else's potshots... Do newspapers trade "reporters" to another country?

He’s prob on Impacts payroll which is fully funded by Kawhi and Uncle D’s joint Wood Forest bank account

Jax is keeping it 100 when it comes to being petty. That's what this is really about. Dude is bitter about how both of his stints ended in SA. When the Spurs have the 20 year reunion for the '03 team they should not invite Jax to the event and not honor him at all. Some will say it won't bother Jax but I think it will. Just look at how emotional Charles Oakley got when the Knicks refused to put him in their hall of fame.

What a warped piece of mind he has to get so heated over that...you ...ur a millionaire...so Is kawhitter, so if king James...just wish they'd all just stfu

And yet he’d sign a contract for $500,000 to play for the Spurs without a 2nd thought.

And maybe organizations have trepidations about signing players who admit they played games stoned.

Expecting a barrage of e to start today or tomoz from the pro Kawawa, pro kiwi to La, salty media. Just like most here it will have taken a few days to digest and for them, to work out what dribble narrative will be trotted out. Should be some coming as the protests start about being dealt to Alberta and the unfairness of it all F

Because they were never going to trade to the Lakers. They didn't want him in the West, specifically team up with Lebron in LA to form another superteam.

Sure, it may still happen next season, but it wasn't going to be by their hands. A lot can happen between then and now.

The Spurs were making requests from the Lakers that they knew they would refuse.
That shouldn't be your priority when trading a guy to see how much you can prevent him from going to his preferred team. That's a nice to have but the first priority should be improving the team which was hard to do with Kawhi's current trade value. That's why I think the Spurs moved on to quick. Now wasn't the right time to trade.

Raptors and Clippers were the only teams willing to put together a serious package. I think we should've waited it out and traded with the Clippers, but PATFO I guess has a really hard rule against trading within the conference. Maybe in a year I'll be eating crow.

When was it then? You think the Spurs could afford to have Kawhi in training camp and playing then trading him? That would be a rebuild year. Also extremely risky because teams like the Raptors or Sixers would want him in training camp too to maximize their 1 year with him.

Seems inevitable. They gotta work the angle out now that (1) his trade demand was granted and (2) he's no longer with the team who supposedly was mismanaging his medical care. Of course publicly dumping on the team who could ensure you are eligible for more money by trading you to where you want to go as opposed to walking wouldn't seem advisable.
