No. I'm talking about good projects with russian owners like Arsenal and Chelsea in Premier League.

I want to beat GSW, I want to win more les now, I want a superteam before Lakers have one.

SAS need more max slots, if current owners can't give us that, then I want other billonaire that solves my basketball concerns
What is the luxury tax in Premier League?

What's the point of this thread? The organization hasn't changed ownership. Are you talking about changing leadership (from Peter to Julianna)?
The Holts own about 38 percent of the team. Their divorce and Julianna stepping into the CEO role didn't make this team "screwed up."

The person that "screwed" the organization is Nephew. No one else.

Not sure big time owners could see a return in SA. The education, income, and fortune 500 corporations are still relatively low in SA unless we can build a stadium in North SA suburb to tap the Austin market.
I doubt there is an Austin market. They don't care about anything other than Longhorns and Cowboys.

Austin has been top rated #1 city to live by US News like 4 out of 5 past years, soaring RE prices, most liberal city in Texas (young professionals love it), fastest growing large city in TX, and Cowboys and Longhorns are more about football. You put a NBA franchise near them, it will flourish.

Peter Holt is out for health reasons. His wife wouldn't talk with Kawhi or any other black athlete but I have no doubt it was one of her new guys.
Um... Last time I checked the Holts had lots of times where they were visibly talking with David Robinson, on camera. Or is D.Rob somehow not black or an athlete or something...

If you put it in Austin then Austinites will go. If you put it in NE San Antonio Austinites will stay in Austin. The NFL has that kind of regional pull. The NBA doesn't.

Doubt it. I don't have any official stats but I'm pretty sure NBA is the fastest growing sports among young kids and young adults. Anyway, it seems a waste not to tap the Austin market when it's only 1.5 hours away. A stadium in New Braunsfel would be a great spot. 1 hour from Austin, 45 minutes from downtown SA. Attendance has looked horrible past few years despite the Spurs success and SA growth. Austin has more higher income residents plus they will have even more corporate sponsors buying up suites and tickets like Dell and maybe even Amazon if they do choose Austin.

The seats are all sold; it's just that the people and companies who bought them don't show up.

That's why you would build the arena in Austin. No one from Austin would make a 7:30 weeknight start outside the city.

Really I-35 between San Antonio and Austin needs 8 lanes going both ways... the hold up in traffic is outrageous. A vacuum tube high-speed train (1,000 passengers) between both cities would also be awesome (12 minute transit). I thought I saw plans where Austin was considering the transport option with Dallas (35 minute transit).

Pretty sure all those things are coming soon. Austin's growth will not stop until it reaches the outskirts of SA anyway.

You don't make any sense. Drives within Houston and Dallas easily reach over 1.5 - 2 hours in traffic. Everyone seems to make games just fine. It may not be prudent yet but sooner or later SA and Austin will share markets once Austin's growth takes over San Marcos.

DOA. Someday they'll figure out a Houston/Dallas/San Antonio circuit that includes Austin but it's decades away.

San Antonians don't even make it to the games on time. Dallas and Houston have centrally located arenas and sane traffic engineering. Austin has nothing of the sort.

That's going to happen much later since it's going to grow eastward probably faster than southward.

the fact that San Antonians don't make it to the games is the reason why this even makes sense and is even a discussion topic. Dallas and Houston have ridiculous traffic. Austin is just as bad but there are more willing participants if (transportation) like a rail line hwy expansion and more is implemented. Ticket prices will rise, their budget to go over the cap will rise too.

The problem is if in the future Austin and San Antonio are compe ors of fortune 500 companies, sports franchises, etc, eventually Austin will win (might take 20 years) but they will be much more attractive than SA for MLS, NFL, NHL, MLB franchises. Just saying. Might as well move it forward before you get passed by. SA will always have the Spurs though I believe. But it could improve is what I'm saying.

Indeed. Never an issue in Spurville until Kawhrisis and his merry band of asshats organized.

No, Austin is worse because they pretended they weren't growing for 30 years. Austin drivers will be stuck in Buda when games start in New Braunfels.

Austin would win all those compe ions if they cared enough to dole out the welfare to sports owners. They are not doing that with MLS, so San Antonio has a fair chance of keeping the Spurs when the lease is up provided they never stop giving SS&E the best welfare in the NBA.

The Spurs are not for sale and are not moving anywhere. The Holts are friends of ours and the racist bull from a couple of posters here is getting old. Peter and Julianna do not have a racist bone in their body. And for the record Julianna is a of a businesswoman and she will continue running the Spurs as the class of all professional sports. The Spurs are going to be fine. If you have a problem with Whites, Latinos, Blacks, Native Americans, Asians or any other race or ethnicity then take it to one of the faker Lakers boards. Those boards are full of hatred and deep anger towards other people that are not exactly like them. We are all equal and should be able to get along without tearing each other down over every word posted. Chill and be happy! Grab a cold one and enjoy it. Life is too short.

One thing that I have always admired about the Spurs is that they had lots of international players over the years on their roster. And I never considered them racist. They wouldn't have drafted players like DJ and Lonnie, or even Kawhi to begin with, if that was the case. That is obvious, in my eyes.

My thread was never about racism or gender some other poster insinuated. It is about the Holts going through a divorce and kinda losing control of the org, is it a coincidence that LA, Tony and Kawhi wanted out???. Everyone hates on Kawhi's uncle, but the reality is this; the Spurs had something to do with it. Not Pop or the players, but someone from the org did something to make Kawhi want to leave.
