I'd love Manu back but unfortunately him retiring is probably the only way White sees meaningful minutes this season. But then again it's Pop and he'll probably just give all of Manu's minutes to Bryn ing Forbes.

Pop would never do that. He will listen to what Manu decides to do. It's what he's done every year for the last few.
RIP Los Spurs obesewagon fans![]()
Wouldn't mind Manure coming back since he can't cost us another chip like he did in '06 and '13 since we won't be competing for this year.
Really want Manu back one more time. Such a crazy transitional year for us, and to have no one huge from the old Spurs culture would be a big hit I think.
I suppose it is greedy to want him back just another year, but this situation is what it is. I hope he does whatever makes him and his family happy.
He should walk away. I don't want him to, but there's no reason for him to play any longer. The old team is gone. I'd expect Pop to go in the next year or two.
It is definitely time for him to go. Tim is gone, Tony is gone, and now the team is in flux with us realizing Leonard was a , and not the next great Spur. Time to hang it up Manu, and see you in the Hall. Also next year retire the Jersey..
Our team, our locker room desperately need Manu Ginobili. There are so many important players gone, young, new guys and not other real leaders who succeeded into the Spurs culture. He can help DeRozan adapting to the system on a leading role at the sg and to be the reference for our three talented but immature young guards. No Manu, tough adaptation and profresssion to all of them.
His leadership and profesionalism in and off the court have a huge value por the franchise, specially on a transition year. Wh do you think? NBA scrubs and bottom draft elections become real NBA players in San Antonio? Culture! And what’s the culture? Values and models (coaches&star players). Tim and Tony are gone, the traitor is gone as well and nobody else has emerged yet as a new leader. We just have Ginobili to help Popovich developer new leadership, the same way Tim did with him and Tony, David did with Tim, etc.
The Spurs must convince Manu to play this season.
I’m sorry for the typos. Posting from the phone...
Didn’t someone post about seeing Jamal Crawford in an airport in SA? That’s probably not connected but it makes more sense now especially if SA were interested in him.
If Manu retires, the team just needs a third-string PG, either on the roster or on a two-way. Murray, Mills and White are three PGs, I know, but after them, only DeRozan can pretend to run an offense -- and that's assuming all of the the first three guys could handle it, and I have a lot of concern for all except maybe White. No Tony, no Manu, no Anderson. The team needs play-making.
This is what I imagine Pop and Manu will talk about. I too agree Manu’s presence will greatly help DeRozan get acclimated and focused. It’s obvious he will play an important role into the spirit and unity of the team. I think this team has a great chance of taking their chip on the shoulder and turning it into something. Under the radar? Great!
if we go back in time to past July/August, considering then that Leonard, Tony and Greeb would be in the team that would have been a better scenario for losing Manu. Same with any time when Timmy was active yet. This summer and the current roster/team situation make Ginobili’s presence crucial.I’m afraid these mentoring and locker leading duties could not be the challenge Manu needs to stay motivated.
Also we have to consider the most probable scenario: Manu has been working out, he’s feeling clumsy/slow/weak and he’s not meeting his minimal standards. Remember the man is 41! and think on his compe ive spirit and self-demanding level.
I hope he sacrifices for the Spurs one more time. Losing him would be horrible for the fans and the team, awful timing for the franchise.
That decision to let Anderson walk is looking worse and worse.
I would have loved the big 3 to retire together at the same time 2 years ago.
Or even better right after the 2014 le
Thanks for the 4Manu
C'mon Manu, just one more year. The young guys need your advice and knowledge. You don't need to play every game nor do you need to play that many minutes.
Let's get something straight , Im a big three player fan.
I meant it made some sense for him to be in a San Antonio airport especially if the Spurs wanted to meet him for a workout or a contract, not in such way that he fits or replaces Ginobili in a similar capacity. I understand the concern though, since most of the team's guards are hybrids who aren't pass-first guards and White hasn't proven anything; he's known more as a shooter than he is a passer. Everyone knows the front office will be hard-pressed to find someone as adept at passing as Ginobili unless Pop spotted some talent while he was overseas attending BWB. The current pool of free agents leaves a lot to be desired too.
fify tbh
Uno Mas Manu!
I really need a good reason to renew my LP sub, tbh.
I wanna be a radio announcer
Do you think it is a good job guys?
Manu retiring would be a significant bad news for the Spurs tbh... This group needs a transition...
Now for Manu himself he is the only one to know... this additional year would add nothing to his career... road trips are gonna be a pain in the ass... from having fun wirth Bobo, the golden boy, patty and hanging around with his brothers tim and tony to having dinners away from home with gay and lma must impact seriously motivation tbh..
Either way I will be fine with his decision
and all trolling aside I've been a fan of him since the very beginning... one of the greatest spur ever and one of the most exciting playing in NBA history... only better peak seasons in Spurs history are tim and david, peak manu is >> tony, gervin..
