Actually, yeah. We have turned our head as hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed in yemen. Guess this one is 1000000x more important.
That's general consensus, why would you need my affirmation?

You still can't say it.![]()
It's possible to care about both
Trump supporters get upset at the thought of caring about anything besides Trump for some reason.
Oh I get it. Because Trump called Fake News the enemy of the people you think I'm in favor of journalists getting murdered.
You're easily programmed.
No one ever said that either, Chris.
You're super defensive here, and yet you still can't say this guy's murder is a bad thing.
This guy's murder is a bad thing.
I know that was really difficult for you to say without instructions from higher up.![]()
It will blow over. Dont expect any major saudi sanctions. We are too invested in them.
But we don't. That's the point.
You said it was a third world problem... America first... well, when you had to think by yourself anyways...
See? makes complete sense now that you have a new opinion on the matter...

Because the Saudis are testing the limits, tbh... It wasn't even in their country (and yes, I know technically, their embassy is their sovereignty due to diplomatic arrangements, but you know what I mean). It's brazen , more than shocking.
For whom do you presume to speak?
Me? You?
The US Government?
I started posting about the US drone war in Yemen in this forum in 2013.
In 2015 it was hardly fashionable to fuss about civilian casualties in the US backed, Saudi led bombing campaign in Yemen, but I posted about that too.
The furore over the Khashoggi disappearance may not seem duly genuine to you, well and fine. Regardless of your indifference, consequences for the KSA and its crown prince -- and for US/Saudi relations -- could be very real.
It's newsworthy despite your hand waving about its insignificance.
Saudi issues Statement on this topic and possible US sanctions. They basically said you Trump and you America. If yu touch us you will not only make Iran great again but will force us to you like we our prized Camels with botox
saudi statement:
Riyadh is the capital of its oil, and touching this would affect oil production before any other vital commodity. It would lead to Saudi Arabia's failure to commit to producing 7.5 million barrels. If the price of oil reaching $80 angered President Trump, no one should rule out the price jumping to $100, or $200, or even double that figure. An oil barrel may be priced in a different currency, Chinese yuan, perhaps, instead of the dollar. And oil is the most important commodity traded by the dollar today.
All of this will throw the Middle East, the entire Muslim world, into the arms of Iran, which will become closer to Riyadh than Washington.
...
The US will also be deprived of the Saudi market which is considered one of the top 20 economies in the world.
These are simple procedures that are part of over 30 others that Riyadh will implement directly, without flinching an eye if sanctions are imposed on it, according to Saudi sources who are close to the decision-makers.
The truth is that if Washington imposes sanctions on Riyadh, it will stab its own economy to death, even though it thinks that it is stabbing only Riyadh!
US will probably back down
Of course, oil at $100+ would enrich BigOil by $10Bs / year, and BigOil makes US foreign policy (eg, Iraq War for oil), not politicians.
Israelis obviously are very quiet and secretly supporting and helping Saudis. This is yet another golden opportunity to get them hook line and siker. If they somehow can protect BinSalman the Clown Prince, they will own him for the rest of his days and he would do their bidding
jerusalem post:
Eran Lerman, the vice president of the Jerusalem Ins ute for Strategic Studies and a former deputy national security council head, said: “It is certainly not in our interests to see the status of the Saudi government diminished in Washington.”
...
Lerman envisions a scenario where Jewish political organizations in Washington – such as the American Jewish Committee, which he once worked for as head of its Israel office – may actually go to Capitol Hill, as they have done in the past, and discreetly lobby for the Saudis, something that could paradoxically bring the two countries even closer together.
I am sure the Russians are also sliming their way into this to gain some easy pickings in the ME
they can even offer Saudis to help make this go away if Saudi finally gives up Syria
seems to me more probable the KSA will back down. we'll see.
Depends what is back down to you? They will never admit to killing him. Of course they will offer billions to turkey, US, family as reparations but thats it. Hopefully they also are forced to get out of Syria and Yemen but Iim sure that would be just a temporary show.
I don't think the KSA will limit production, build Russian or Chinese bases or price their biggest investment in anything other than dollars.
I do think there's a chance they'll ditch the crown prince.
