    This defense had such a solid foundation of young players a few years ago (Jamie Collins, Chandler Jones, Malcolm Butler) and it got thrown away so the McCourty gots and Stephon Gilmore could get overpaid.

    Gilmore is a shutdown corner, to be fair, he's a top 5 man corner... better than Butler ever was honestly. Shut down Jeffery and whoever else he guarded in the SB last year.

    Can't speak for the McCourty's. They are usually ranked in the upper 80s in Madden, though.


    2014 was the best Pats defense since the early 00s, for sure. Let's not forget they also had Revis as their CB1. And Hightower pre injury.

    Agreed. That kick return was actually a blessing for them because the Chiefs defense got no time to rest.
