If the Warriors and Raptors keep playing like they're playing now the playoffs seem kind of moot. I don't want them tanking and knowing Pop hewon't let them but, a good first round pick sure could help our future once our young guys get well.
Spurs fans share your hopes. However, that is really hoping to catch lightning in a bottle to expect a first and second year player to have that kind of impact. I will be mildly surprised if we make the playoffs this season.

Yeah, I agree, but regardless of which teams are playing well, the Spurs are simply not good enough to be more than an also-ran at best.
I am a lot less sure after all the injuries to start this season but ultimately I think Aldridge and Derozan are too good to be on a team that misses the playoffs. If they really want to make it they should consider a trade for a guard though. We're really bad defensively there.
Sucks to say it, but I doubt it from what I've seen. I think Derozan and bench are going to be too up and down.
As good as Aldrdige and DeRozan are, I have trouble seeing it with how godawful the team is defensively. When you can't get stops you can't win games when your jumpers aren't falling. I have a really hard time seeing this team ahead of any of the Warriors, Rockets, Pelicans, Nuggets, Jazz, Lakers, or Blazers and then Grizzlies, Thunder, and perhaps Timberwolves could be pretty tough opponents for that 8-seed. So I'll go false.
This team is held together with gum and duck tape. If DEROZ or LMA or Gay get hurt will easily be in for a top 10 pick.
From what we have seen thus far false. The defense has been historically bad and the offense isn’t good enough to make up for it on a nightly basis tbh. Would love to be wrong though
Spurs might be there either way.
True
It will be a close one. But they have the pieces and coaching to get 8th or 7th seed
No way the Spurs miss the playoffs. Two all stars is enough to make the playoffs. Team will be 35-20 before you know it.
there's a poll here: https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275954
True, DeRozan/Aldridge are good enough to get at least 7-8 seed. I also don't think the West is as tough as it's been in the past.
No...and we shouldn't want them to. Getting into the lottery is the only way this team can avoid being first round fodder for the next 5 years...
Called dat![]()
Easy one. Spurs got Patty.
I've said in preseason the Spurs will get #2-4
People dont realize how ugly other teams became this season
I think the race for 4-8 seed will be super close and the Spurs will have a good shot at ending up 4th or 5th. Unfortunately every game will be a grind. If DD can keep this up then things will get interesting in the west.
Not making the POs might be smarter but with our Playoff streak still intact, I'd like to keep it going as long as possible.
so Melo is worse than Gasol and Mills? Well at least he only costs 1.5 million and not 28
I would say White was the deciding factor on this team making the playoffs.
yay! What do i get for being correct?![]()
2 more years of Patty Mills at the amazing price of 13mills/per! Enjoy!
Is this clown ever right about anything?
