I love that we’re starting to see what the FO saw in signing an ancient Pau. What happened to Dawwvis??? Just terrible!

I've been the only Bryn Forbes fan from the beginning who sees this kid's potential. Yeah he's limited in height and length but despite that he's continued to be one of the brightest spots in this roster.

Is it just me or is Forbes a half decent defender?
    I like Forbes, tbh.
Forbes is not that bad. He can become a nice spark plug, he has a nice in between game and he knows how to use his 3PT shot as a threat to get past defenders. I actually don't think he's a bad defender either unless he's put on guys that tower over him (like Klay) which is more on Pop than him. He's overagressive on closeouts sometimes but that can be improved with more playing time/experience.

Much rather have him than Belli. He is redundant though, that's the real issue more than his game.
His body is looking good. Looking thick af. No .

He's going to have a good season, imo. The issue is roster construction, not him. The real mistake was bringing back Belli instead of keeping Kyle or adding another true SF. There's not enough length on the wing.
I like Forbes. Pair him with one of DJ, Manu, and White at all times. Let them guard 2s and let Forbes guard 1s (if it's a smaller 2 it doesn't matter) and I guarantee his defensive metrics will improve drastically. He is a good defender, imho.

All the wrath should be directed at Belli. He has no business being on the team.
Forbes is good. He will prove a lot of people wrong. Its not like they are running the beatiful game, the team's top players are iso guys, so he could do well as the startinv PG, imo. Plus he's a solid defender when he isn't guarding 6-6 SGs, tbh.
    Forbes > Belli
Why do some of you continue to insist on lumping Forbes with Mills?

Patty runs around like a chicken with his head cut off on defense. Forbes doesn't. Yeah, he got juked pretty badly one play but other than that there wasn't a play all game where I thought "wow that was really terrible defense". With Mills, I think that pretty much every play. I'll continue to stand by my statement that Forbes, when he isn't guarding SGs and is at a significant size disadvantage, is actually a pretty good defender.

There's offense too. Whatever Patty may have been at one point (spark plug/shooter) off the bench is gone. Forbes is just plain better at every aspect and should've been Patty's replacement not his running mate. Patty is literally only on the team because he is a great guy/teammate with an infectious personality.

Forbes looked like a point guard last night. I was impressed.

again I liked Cun defensively, and as he is not pushed by his opponents, I hope Huestis can deliver something similar

Thanks Timvp. So happy to have these grades back. I really hope we can start a little winning streak.

And as someone posted earlier, with this team, the regular season has become relevant again. For so long it was the whole "wake me up when the playoffs begin" because we knew would be there. But now every win is huge! Especially against the lakers

    Grades are spot on, thanks.

Will add one thing that I realized watching the game:

I had fun watching and it caught me by surprise as lately the games have been hard to watch, with all the bad breaks the Spurs (and fans) suffered through. Last night I just appreciated the team for what it is now and am grateful for any win against anyone.

The Timmy era spoiled me rotten and I am going to have to just accept what the Spurs are now. It made the game fun to watch at least for me.
I had higher expectations before the season started when Murray, Lonnie and White weren't injured. I was thinking top 4 seed, maybe even top 3 if they all played well. It's been hard, but I've had to lower them now. DDR has been a good surprise, though. I like his game (minus his shooting form, which I think is what makes him an inconsistent shooter) way more than I thought I would. I love his ball handling and passing. I hope Lonnie and Derrick can get back soon and both be part of the rotation. They'll raise the Spurs ceiling IMO if they can stay healthy.

    Thanks, TIMVP!

Couldn't be happier with the season, honestly. Hope it can continue in a positive direction. So many signs of life here with DeRozan playing so well, Forbes stabilizing into an NBA player, chemistry developing and finding ways to win.
To have a successful season this team and staff will have to over-achieve. I truly believe that no one can do that better than Pop. 77 more to go!

I am getting there too. It was an adjustment naturally and still is sometimes, but a lot less than it was during the summer or preseason.
